5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this lip balm!
This lip balm is absolutely amazing! I have lips that are very prone to drying and are quite sensitive to many lip products. This is a holy grail for me. It's incredibly moisturizing and it sinks into my lips rather than sitting atop them. It has little to no scent and a nice non-greasy feel. 1.0 out of 5 stars If you like paying $9 for 90% Vaseline
It pretty much comes down to this: Do you like the texture, gloss, and taste of Vaseline on your lips? With 90% Petrolatum, that's what you are getting with this product and not much else. A touch of UV-B only sunscreen give it a virtually nonexistent SPF 4. There are much better products out there at this price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this lip balm!, April 18, 2008
This review is from: Kiehls - Lip Balm #1 (Misc.)
It is also completely colorless so it works for both men and women (this is one of the few lip balms that my husband will actually use).

My only complaint is that the applicator is not a slant tip but rather just a tube opening so it's not quite as comfortable to apply to my lips (but in the end it's nothing that would stop me from purchasing it again).

I should also note that a little bit of product goes a very long way. I've had the same tube for a couple of years now and am not even half way through it.

4.0 out of 5 stars BEST lip balm ever!!, January 23, 2009

This review is from: Kiehls - Lip Balm #1 (Misc.)
This lip balm is fantastic. Like the other reviewers all mention - a little goes a long way, but it's a great value for the price. I don't tend to like chapstick type lip balms or sticky glosses. This product give a little bit of shine without heaviness, or odd scents or flavors. I have used it under lipstick, over lipstick or alone and my husband like it too (he's rather picky about his lip balm and has been a life-long chapstick user). The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is no comfortable way to apply it directly from the tube. There is no angled applicator, like a previous review stated, so I usually have to use my finger to apply it. This won't prevent me from using it, but it would be a five star product if the tube had a better top. Other than that, it's great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!, June 11, 2008
This review is from: Kiehls - Lip Balm #1 (Misc.)
I was having a problem with severely dry lips that wouldn't go away no matter what I used. I tried everything...including scrubbing them. I did a google search for dry lips and this product came up in a review. I decided to give it a try and I'm SO glad I did. Within about 5 days, my dry, cracked, peeling lips were gone and were now soft and supple. I swear by this stuff! I also bought the Hue 58 lip balm with SPF 15. Love it too!! Just a subtle hint of natural color.

If you want totally soft lips, and a hint of gloss that's not sticky...this is the perfect product!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Over priced, December 20, 2011
I agree with an earlier review. I refuse to pay $7 for half an once of Vaseline. I'm shocked that I see this product on so many top lists.

5.0 out of 5 stars great stuff!, October 3, 2008
This lip balm is extremely moisturizing. It has no unpleasant taste or color, and it's great to layer underneath gloss or lipstick. A little bit goes a long way. I'll definitely purchase this product again. It's a terrific value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lip Balm, January 30, 2012
I bought Kiehl's lip balm after borrowing some from a friend and I will never be going back to the normal Chap Stick. While Kiehl's has to be applied using your finger, the thickness of the balm and ability to last, keeps my lips moisturized and also gives a little shine without added color or scent. It has the added SPF which is nice and really does an amazing job at mending dry lips without the greasy feel!

3.0 out of 5 stars Feels and tastes like glycerin, January 28, 2012
I got this product as part of a larger gift set. I personally do not like the feel, which reminds me of petroleum and glycerin. I also don't like the tube, which requires that you unscrew the top and then squeeze out the lip balm. However, since the tube is a lot bigger than the amount of actual lip balm in it, you can squeeze it and you end up with a gloppy mess.

2.0 out of 5 stars Save your money and buy burts, February 28, 2011

This product is nothing more than petroleum jelly. It works, just not as well as many other products. I would recommend Burt's Bees above Kiehls, and it will save you ~$3

2.0 out of 5 stars One of the rare Kiehl's bombs, February 21, 2011
This review is from: Kiehls - Lip Balm #1 (Misc.)
I LOVE Kiehl's products because they are mostly all-natural, non-gimicky, and are of high quality. I'm not one to be biased or blinded by the brand name, however. I rate each product on its own merits. While the Creme de Corps body creme is easily a 10 (even on scale of 1-5), the lip balm is at most a 2.

A few of their products, however, are not up to snuff, such as the lip balm. As one commenter mentioned, it's glorified vaseline in a tube. There's just no getting around it-this product is 99% vaseline. To add insult to injury, it is somewhat irritating ot my lips, all the more so in the fragranced versions of the lip balm. Moreover, the various "flavors" of the balms taste nothing like what they are supposed to. I am surprised that this product has not been revamped.
