The Best Alt Country Band Alive, February 4, 2004

I bought this CD after accidentally discovering the band at a small club in New York. For the past couple years I've been listening mostly to alt country music (Wilco, Whiskeytown, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, etc.) I have to say, I think this debut album by the Kieran Ridge Band is the best thing I've heard in a long time. In particular, the songs "Just Like September," and "The Sound of My Heart Breaking" are brilliant. I'll be shocked if this band isn't huge in the next few years. Looking forward to the next album.
