Volume 2 starts off with a bang, a plane crash that is caused by a winged robot sent by D.A.R.K. This Volume then introduces two new characters. One is Hattori Hanpei (descendant of the famous real-life ninja Hattori Hanzo). In Code 02 he is a student with Mitsuko were as in the original manga and TV show he was a private investigator who dressed like Sherlock Homes. In the old manga he is an older man mid 30s to 40s. In the show he was a younger man in his 20s who was reminiscent of Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo. Now a student he is still reminiscent of Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo with baggy clothes and unkempt hair.The second character is Wakisaka who was seen in Volume one but only in flash backs and never given a name. He worked on Ichiro's case.

The first part of the volume shows us D.A.R.K. evil intention with the plane crash in which a famous scientist was on board. The next act they kill another scientist this one if found by Mitsuko (this one happen to be an old family friend aswell).

The three D.A.R.K. robots seen in this volume are Yellow Jaguar, White Scorpion, and Gold Bat making it the count now nine out of thirteen.
The second part of the volume deals with Gold bat and him kidnapping Mitsuko to lure out Jiro. In a series of flash backs we learn that Dr. Komyoji made him too with a GEMINI circuit, however like Jiors it two is flawed. Gill then orders a bat robot to save time Dr. Komyoji turns bat into what he is now and abandons him. When Jiro arrives to save Mitsuko he learns that all the robots he has fought are his brothers. After finishing the fight he seemingly downloads Gold Bats Emotions in to his GEMINI circuit. The building begins to come down with Mitsuko inside, however she is saved by none other than Hakaider another robot built by Dr. Komyoji but this one is programmed to destroy Jiro.

Another interesting thing was the redesign of Kikaider's bike the Side Machine instead of using a bike with a side care they used a racing sidecar bike. All in all this book brings you in deeper to the story and the characters making you want to read volume three.
