I find Le Pinch pretty fascinating, actually, and have had to remove it from arm's reach so I can get some work done. No problems with durability - it does need to be wound quite tight to have enough umph to climb steps, and I do wish it had a bit more energy from a single wind. I'm always disappointed when it runs out of gas. But it's fun for the price. And quite a conversation piece in the office.

We got this for a gift and it quit working correctly within the first hour of play. It quit crawling and now it just goes spastic. When it did crawl, it was a little boring. We also got the awika model and it is great fun!

I love these Kikkerland toys and this is my favorite one. They require no batteries, are very creatively designed and unlike anything else I've seen. Children and pets love to watch them crawl around too! This wind up toy is well made out of metal and strong plastic parts. The great thing about them is that you can see inside of the toy and figure out how it works. Its a great example to show children how gears and mechanical things work. I have 4 different wind up toys from Kikkerland and I love them all. This model walks with its rubbery feet while articulating up and down like an inchworm. The spring is very strong and provides a good amount of walking distance on a smooth surface.

Broken when I opened it, then snapped in pieces when I played with it,

This never worked when I opened it. It just flops around instead of slowly crawling as the videos of him show. During one wind-up (maybe the 8th-10th try), it made a loud click and suddenly started working for 3 seconds, then went back to its original broken, spastic state at the next wind-up. By no more than 15 tries, gears started breaking off of the toy, pieces would fall off, and the gears were no longer touching each other.I suspect the plastic gears are the probelm--if this had been made with metal, I don't think the slipping, bending, and breaking would have happened. This was a very big disappointment after all of the excitement from the videos

I bought Le Pinch as a gift. When it arrived I tried it out to make sure it was OK but it didn't work. The toy doesn't have enough strength to take even one step across a clean, smooth surface. It stretches itself out and never raises itself back up again. Too bad because it would be adorable if it worked. I had also purchased Pintacuda which worked only for the first wind-up and then stopped working. The Awika and Mxykikker both seem more durable-- I haven't had problems with these two models if you're looking to buy one of Kikkerland's critters.

Worked great for me. Friend loved it, and was fun to play with. Liked that it was slower... better for office desks.

This wind up toy is good looking but it doesn't really wind up and move well. It sort of gets stuck when stretched out and doesn't wind up enough to go too far.
