Live in an apartment building. When this first went outside the door, I heard a new breed of owl hoo-hoo'ing outside the door.

I use this mat to cushion the standing area in front of my kitchen sink, and I love the little owl, who in my opinion is supercute.
Another reviewer characterizes this mat as "plush." However, I suggest you read "plush" to mean that, when standing on it in shoes, it feels like it has pile and some give to it. Don't be mistaken, though, the material of the mat is plastic. This is a big part of what makes it perfect for the kitchen sink area.
So, yes, it is cushy, as long as we understand that we are talking about plastic pile of the same molecular consistency as artifical turf. It's not fabric-soft, nor snuggly.
After all, it's a doormat, not a rug. But, its plasticity means it works as a kitchen sink mat, too.

I started out loving this mat so much, but within 2 weeks the backing had begun to "melt off" on to the porch, ruining the paint underneath. Before this, I had also bought a second mat for my mother, as a gift. What a drag? Kikkerland was not responsive at all and sent me back to Amazon, which was fine, except for the fact that they refused to acknowledge the problem I described.
Yesterday I saw these mats on sale at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, for half the price here, so I suspect there have been problems with these mats, and they're not as special as I had hoped.

Doormat
This is a very tough rug. I have it right in my basement where everyone comes in with snow, mud, ice....etc. and it has held up wonderfully. Nothing has faded. It is awesome!
