I ordered a couple of these bags for two specific reasons. I needed a durable bag that wouldn't get holes in it after a couple of uses, and I needed a bag that would stand out from everyone elses.
I am deployed to a small base in Afghanistan. We don't get to do our own laundry. We have to drop it off and come back three days later to pick it up. When you live on a base with a bunch of US and Polish army folks there seem to be two options: olive drab bag and white mesh bag. It sometimes takes a while for the laundry folks to go through that many bags and find yours when it looks like everyone elses.
I dropped this one off the day after I got it, the laundry guy laughed, and then didn't even assign it a number. I came back, he looked at my face and said "You have the black bag?" Yeah, he remembers my stuff alright. I'm in and out while everyone else stands in line.
Being deployed, I live in what normal people would call a Tuff Shed. Rough plywood walls were always snagging my old mush bag and wearing it out quick. Weapons, gear, latches on vehicles, all kinds of stuff would get caught in the mesh. The material of this new bag is pretty tough and won't snag on anything. Plus is seals up any noxious offgasing my PT clothes may be giving off at the time. Great for my room, maybe not so great for the laundry guys. Buy, hey, I'm covered. This bag has its own warning lable.
After a couple of more weeks of taking this to the laundry I noticed that the white labeling is starting to peal off. Bag is still in good shape and I didn't necessarily by it for the danger symbol, but I've had it less than a month. Maybe it's not supposed to be washed, but I don't really have a choice in my circumstances.
