It seems like a good idea to get a ceramic egg tray since we raise our own eggs and there is only so long you can use a paper egg carton as your permanent tray before it falls apart (and we sell our eggs in the kind of egg carton that splits into two half dozen packs which is not great for reuse anyway because it's less stable). So, for those of you who are gathering and cleaning your own eggs I have some advice: A paper carton absorbs and evaporates the water left on your eggs- a ceramic container does not so they sit in a puddle. A paper carton is very gentle on the eggs when you take it in and out of the refrigerator- a ceramic container is hard and the eggs clank around. So far this is working for us ok (I dry off the eggs now) but if I place the egg in the carton too hard or jostle it too much on the way to or from the fridge I think I could get some cracking. The product is just fine, but perhaps not quite suited to my needs. It's probably not serving me any better than using a bowl to keep a small pile of eggs easily available.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for inventory! April 13, 2011

I purchased this because I was tired of two things. #1. My eggs sticking to the packaging and breaking when I tried to remove them. #2. Thinking I had more eggs then I did. I now know exactly how many eggs I have, they never stick to the "plate" and I can stack the eggs from the previous carton on top! I won't be without this item again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!! January 23, 2010

I came across a unique use for this egg rack--a jewelry organizer--I ordered 3 of them and love them. I keep one wherever I put on or take off jewelry. It is pretty, simple and well made. I am sure it is perfect for its intended use but in the meantime, it is perfect for holding my jewelry.

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't always purchase JUMBO eggs and you need to for this tray.
I chose to rate the item only 3 because the eggs do not sit upright, they lean. You would have to purchase JUMBO eggs in order for them to seat properly. Read more

I use it for my jewelry and it works perfectly for separating and storing small earrings and rings. I might even buy another one!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it.
We got this to hold our hard boiled eggs. It's easy to tell the difference now. It's also easy to put in the dishwasher as needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to Anthropologie's egg crate!
I ordered this ceramic egg crate to use as an earring holder on my dresser. I find that if I can see my jewelry, I'm more likely to wear it. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for leaving fresh eggs out on counter
This is attractive and functional -- my only minor 'complaint' is that even larger eggs seem to wobble a bit in the large slots. No matter -- it's still great. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than cartons
I've always hated the ugly egg cartons and you can only imagine the bacteria they can carry. I found a similar one at anthropologie but did not buy because they only held 6 eggs. Read more
