Customer Reviews

Cute novelty tea infuser; works great.
Natasha A.
Also the body where you put the tea is hard to close on one side due to the arm hinge.
Lauren Neff
Even with larger loose leaf teas, bits still escape the holes and get into her tea.

This little hanging robot dude is super cute. If you serve someone tea with this, they _will_ smile, I promise. And once the tea has steeped enough, it's a cinch to take the little guy out and set him in his little tray. The arms adjust, so it can fit pretty much any cup or mug (even narrow or shallow ones), with the possible exception of tiny little mini teacups.

You load the guy with tea by popping him open -- there are a couple metal tabs which hold two halves shut. This is a slightly fiddly process, and can lead to a few stray tea leaves on the counter. Also, when closed, some tea leaves can escape through the cracks in the side, so if you're a purist about not getting any leaves in the tea you drink (and/or you tend to drink very finely ground tea) that could be a problem.

This awesome infuser was gift from my wife. I don't think she got it on Amazon, but it's the same product.
I love it, and all the people I've shown think it's great. His arms will extend to fit most cup sizes, and he seals the tea in very well. And Teabot (as I like to call it) is super easy to clean; some infusers make it really difficult to get out all of the leaves, but this one opens all the way up and it's no problem.
This infuser is fun, effective, and has a nice little presence in the kitchen when he's not in use. I definitely would recommend this product.

I love this little guy... as long as I'm not using him. He's cool, he infuses, BUT he gets tea all over my cup of tea. He's very loosely sealed, which lets a good portion of tea escape his bowels. I'll probably keep him around as a conversation piece, but as far as being functional, he's a failure.

so allow me to begin by saying i was SO excited to finally get a set of these tea infusers. that being said, i was a little disappointed with the functionality.

the infusers are pretty small, about two inches high or so, and are very lightweight. they open well enough, and have plenty of space for the loose tea to fit inside. after i placed the tea inside, i went to snap it shut, and it didn't want to close properly without a little finessing. when i closed it, bits of loose tea kind of flew out. not a big deal, but not ideal either.

however, it kind of sealed the deal when i put the little guy into a cup of hot water: bits of loose tea just kept coming out of the holes. this is a deal breaker, as i don't love drinking in hard bits of tea-makings.

it is a real disappointment, as i loved how this infuser looked (he reminded me of the big daddies in bioshock), and he even came with his own little tray.

the sad part is i couldn't in good faith recommend this to anyone. it just lets far too much loose tea out in the brewing process. back to disposable bags it is.

Broke the first time I tried to open it. The metal tab at the top of the rocket that holds it closed is extremely brittle and flimsy.

Have put in a return request through Amazon, no response yet.

I work in the space industry and drink tea every day, so was VERY excited to get this in the mail... However I now think it should be nicknamed "VANGUARD" after America's first launch vehicle...

What can you say? This little guy is too cute! There were only two things I noticed a bit flawed in the design. His "feet" are not flat, so when sitting in the drip tray, be sure to utilize his arms and hands to hold him up. Secondly, the infuser itself is a bit clumsy when first being opened... make sure you close it firmly at the base of the arms (make sure it clicks!) before putting it in the water! Otherwise, it's a great conversation piece and just makes my tea THAT MUCH MORE enjoyable!

Works as advertised. The holes are a little big but if you buy a thicker cut tea only a few bits go into the cup. Not a big deal by any stretch of the imagination.

Overall a nice fun product.

If you worry about tea leaves in your cup buy a supertight tea ball with miniscule holes or just don't drink tea.

I really like this little guy. This tiny tea-bot has all the utility of a tea-ball, but the cuteness of a robot. I use a whole leaf green tea, so I have no problem with leaves leaking out. He is no more difficult to use than an average tea-ball. It just cracks everybody up when they see a tiny robot hangin' out in my cup.
