Children at my window.,

This the first OOIOO album I have heard in full, but it is totally awesome. Every song floats into the next, and when you're done w/ the album you think to yourself ''why isn't this album already on loop.''The first nite I got this album I listened to it on loop for several times, then fell asleep to it. It totally weirded me out in a good way. I awoke to the sound of little kids at my bedroom window, but it was just the 'Kila Kila Kila'. Bad ass!

Whenever I hear something and I am not sure what, I know I have stepped in something good, and here, it is this ooioo album
This is a long sound collage of free jamming, fuzz guitar, and space rock. It also contains noise. sound, and confections which sound a little like scraps of soul. When I first played this album, I was overwhelmed, but in a way where I knew I snagged a big fish, and it was going to take time to digest each delicious part. Yummy--an album for a lifetime with more than enough aural supply to go around This music is old school in that it is all encompassing, with complete disregard for genre boundaries. Yet this is no patchwork 1960s piece, as each part is timed and executed perfectly. At this feast, there is no cheese. Speaking of 1960s--this music does not sound like Yoko Ono, but is informed by that experimental sense with no lines, no walls, no constrictions. The real deal. Amazing. You gotta get it.

Nothern Lights!,

cute track listing typo's (such as the one above) aside, OOIOO are serious about making subtle, wide branching psychedelia.
To put it simply and clearly, this sounds exactly like a collaboration between tortoise and deerhoof would. loose, jazzy, grooving jams full of jaggered guitars, trumpets and sun-kissed beds of colourful sounds are married with yoshimi's odd vocal yelps. great stuff for fans of noise pop and jazzy post-rock, who are after something inventive yet mellow and full of grooves.
