First off, I'm reviewing this in regards to "Does this series read well to it's intended audience?" which is mostly young girls who are into the Disney Princess realm of things. My response to that is a resounding "YES!" Kilala is a girl enchanted by princesses and happily-ever-after's like any young girl her age. Her mother is ill and the parents have gone to a "promised land" of sorts (leaving Kilala to behind to fend for herself- WHA!?!) to see if she'll get better. The one thing I don't understand in Japanese manga is why authors seem to have the parents literally ABANDON their children and not take them with them. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is merely one of the many other titles that emulate this same scenario.

But otherwise this title brings the greatness of the Disney princess cast into the story of a girl named Kilala and a "mysterious boy" named Rei as they hunt to find the princess that will save Rei's kingdom. These volumes are mini-manga, which means they're only a third in size to a typical size that we're used to seeing. Personally, as an older female reader, I'm still enchanted by this little manga series because it makes me nostalgic to my younger years when I was into all of the Disney stories and Once Upon A Time's.

So far I've loaned all 4 volumes to a friend's 8-year old daughter who's had trouble reading books. After lending her this series, my friend said that this has been a great "starting point" in conquering the reading issues she's had in the past. Now they're moving on to the Beauty Pop series and enjoying it more as they both read together, and the girl is tackling assigned literature with more confidence. Basically, this series is perfectly designed and proportioned to ease into reading manga as a whole before progressing to other titles with heavier Japanese themes to them.

The reason why I give it a 4-star rating is because of the author's "abandonment" set-up with the girl's parents and there is a brief gun-pull scene in the third volume that some parents might be leery about. Since this manga series is designed to present the Disney image to young readers, I have to review it with that mentality as opposed to it being just a "Japanese Manga." But otherwise, it's an enchanting, heart-warming series; and the gushy, girlie romance scenes make me get all sappy inside just reading them. This is certainly a girl's guilty pleasure series for the kid in any female reader.

First of All, I have to admit. I'm a 19 Years old male, And i saw an ad on this manga "Kilala Princess" in one of the "Kingdom Hearts" (see Below) mangas. It actually caught my interest and decided to check it out.
Princess Kilala has many similarities to the PS2 game "Kingdom Hearts" which is a combination between Square Enix characters and Disney. The story however in Princess Kilala is different (with the exception of 7 Princess.. being that Kilala or Erica from the manga along with the original Disney Princess) The drawing is extremely well done and the story itself has a nice comedy-filled situations with Kilala being somewhat of a tomboy.
This Manga is for Girl demographic mostly teens or girls of ages between 9 and up. but still anyone could pick this up and enjoy it, everyone of course has a favorite disney character and surely a favorite Disney Princess no matter who you are (In my Case its Aurora and Belle) so if you are interested pick this up along with Volume 2. as volume one is extremely somewhat short and you might wanna complete the second one after you finish the first.
