This Kilian “No Rust” ball bearing flange unit with two bolt holes, a grease fitting, and a setscrew lock is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. This ready-to-mount unit has a housing made of a thermoplastic material that resists rust and corrosion from heavy washdown environments and harsh chemicals, such as acids and solvents. It is equipped with a fitting on the outer surface for reapplying lubricant, and a solid base to reduce the risk of contamination through gaps in the material. The ball bearing insert in the housing is made of 330 stainless steel for resistance to corrosion from chemicals and frequent washdowns in food processing and packaging applications. It supports moderate speeds and moderate radial, thrust, and combined loads. Its wide inner ring provides increased support to the shaft. This bearing unit operates under continuous temperatures of up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (121 degrees Celsius). The bearing locks onto the shaft with two setscrews for a three-point contact hold. This lock type minimizes ring distortion and vibration and is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction. Flanged bearing units are suitable for use in industrial and commercial applications including conveyors, fans and blowers, construction machinery, and processing equipment, among many others.
