Biography

The new record began with the same surprise turn that started Corin Tucker’s career back in 1991, ended Sleater-Kinney’s 11-year year run in 2006 and inspired the punk-feminist rocker to redefine herself as a stay-at-home mom.

It was early 2009, and Tucker was performing at a benefit show in her hometown of Portland, Ore., airing out a couple of new songs. Another benefit -- ... Read more in Amazon's The Corin Tucker Band Store

Editorial Reviews

Kill My Blues, the band's second album, will be released Sept. 18th on killrockstars. This album is a more collaborative effort from the band, which includes Sara Lund (Unwound), Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks) and Seth Lorinczi (The Golden Bears).
Of writing and recording the new album, Tucker notes that Kill My Blues was a group effort. ''After the past two years playing together, traveling and making music, I think we're more comfortable,'' she says. ''We collaborated on every song on this record and no one was shy about their ideas. I think you can hear that sense of joy and abandon in the songs.''

4.0 out of 5 stars Corin hits her stride September 23, 2012
Format:Audio CD
I confess to being less than impressed by Corin Tucker's first outing after Sleater-Kinney went on hiatus -- it was, forgive me, wimpy -- but this second release is almost as exciting as the best of S-K. Tucker's band is powerful and cohesive, and their songs are full of angst and wild energy. The spirit of punk and grunge is here in all its glory. Keep it up, Corin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Corin is BACK.... October 4, 2012
By Qfive
Format:MP3 Music
After a fine, though subdued, first solo record, CorinTucker roars back to life for "Kill My Blues.' The band is tight, the songs are potent and her yowl is better than ever. I have had this one on repeat since I gave it a first spin. I loved the Wild Flag record, but in my opinion "Kill My Blues" is as close to a new Sleater-Kinney record as you could hope for. PS - "Tiptoe" is the barnburner... well, one of the barnburners...

5.0 out of 5 stars Kick out the jams!! September 20, 2012
Format:Audio CD
This new album is amazing -- Corin is back to her old self, while being more mature and even more creative. Her band is a force to be reckoned with, and they are clearly all loving it. So great to hear her rage and rock again!

Love this album. I've been playing it almost non-stop since I received it. Everything I want from Corin Tucker, her great voice and guitars. Dare I say a more mature version of S-K?

4.0 out of 5 stars corin tucker is back baby January 15, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Corin Tucker is back and it feels like she never left, picking up from sleater kinneys The Woods album , which I felt was the best album they had ever put out. Kill my blues is filled with classic Corin vocals that kept sleater kinney rocking. The music will soothe those who have been missing sleater kinney these past years , but also shows that Corwin is still a powerhouse with fresh lyrics and awesome licks and a killer voice. My hope is that Corwin wont keep us waiting so long for her next album.
