5.0 out of 5 stars Easily my favorite by Joel Andre

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay
This author can really get you going or leave you scratching your head. No, this book isn't bad...but I wouldn't put it in my list of favorites by him either. He has better books in my opinion, but the story line was interesting, the teenager speaks in a formal tone which seems off at times to me. But the writing was better than a lot of the other freebies I have been...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily my favorite by Joel Andre, December 23, 2011
This review is from: Kill 4 Me (Kindle Edition)
A tragic accident has taken first Casey's father, and now her sister when they are involved in a collision that kills everyone involved except Casey. Just as Casey is adjusting to life without her sister and getting herself back to normal, she starts to get mysterious text messages - telling her that she owes the sender, and that she must perform some task. The text message says "Kill for me, Casey." Who is it? Why are they after her? How will she survive what is to come? Will she be able to protect her mother?

I've read a number of stories and books by Andre, and this is my favorite one by far. The characters are much better developed than normally, and the plot is smooth and flows nicely. The levels of horror and suspense are high, and the twists toward the end are wonderful! Definitely check this one out!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Chilling, Suspenseful, Fast Paced Tale, September 8, 2011
This review is from: Kill 4 Me (Paperback)
A family falls victim to a demonic spirit, the spirit has decided that Casey Dwyer must pay the price for sins committed, leaving a horrifying and dreadful ordeal for the entire family. The family have already suffered a mass of losses previously, the sinister demonic spirit only adds to their sadness, and their thrilling tale starts here.

A fast paced thrilling book that will certainly scare even the strongest of people, and will definitely have a reader jumping out of the seat with fright. A severe chill up your spine is a definite and certain occurrence while reading this tale.

The scenes are set with vivid writing descriptions that add to the chill, fear and the pure gruesome fun of reading this wonderfully written horror. The structure is very cleverly written from different points of view; the mother's, Casey's and of course the demonic spirit that is causing mayhem and havoc in their lives.

A definite thrilling suspenseful and gruesome read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, August 29, 2011
This review is from: Kill 4 Me (Paperback)
I like the concept of the story and it was a fun short read. It does get a little rocky at times, but that is why I gave it four stars. In general, it is a good story.

Kill 4 Me is a great read for any fan of horror books. Casey and her family had suffered from such terrible losses, only to become the victim of a demonic spirit.

I was shocked when I learned why the spirit had decided Casey must pay for her sins. I highly recommend this book for all horror fans. I still find myself getting chills anytime I get a text on my cell phone from an unknown person.

This book keeps you drawn in from the start. I could not put it down for one minute. The story moves quickly. I finished the book in under two hours. Kill 4 Me has all the makings for a great movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turn off your cell phone when you read this book!, September 10, 2008
This review is from: Kill 4 Me (Kindle Edition)
Kill 4 me blends an edge of your seat thriller with highlights of horror and suspense. Reading this book alone at night will definitely send chills up and down ones spine. The gruesome scenes in this book scared me easily, and actually I received a text message as I was finishing up this book and I literately jumped! This book would make the perfect horror movie! The storyline of this book is highly believable but the reader prays to never have to be in a situation anywhere near like Casey Dwyer. Joel M. Andre makes this book a pure nail biting thrill ride that will have you titillated in wondering what is going to happen next. A must read for any horror or thriller genre enthusiast!

4.0 out of 5 stars Spooky and Fun, February 10, 2012

A horrific accident takes Casey's sister and leads her down a dark path. While the overview suggests that the full haunting takes place through a cell phone, it also uses IM and other means to connect. The story is going to be a little dated, but not bad a few years after its release. It made for a nice afternoon read.

I've read other stuff by this author before and was happy to find this title. A pretty basic ghost story that involves a haunted cell phone. It's witty at times, although the writing is more formal than usual. Overall, a good read and the ending had me doing a double take.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising Storyline, January 16, 2012

This review is from: Kill 4 Me (Kindle Edition)
When I read the synopsis, I honestly wasn't interested in this story. Being that it was a free title when I picked it up, I figured I would give it a go. Having read other work from the author in the past, I felt he did a good job with this title. As others have mentioned, the characters were very formal and not quite as crafted as his more recent stuff.

Overall, it is a good read you can enjoy over the course of an afternoon.

My opinion is this author is talented, but he needs to focus on deciding what is going to make an interesting read and what could be cut. The ending of this book was good, but the twists seem a little over the top.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked a lot of his other stuff better, January 13, 2012

While the story and the characters are fine, I just didn't get into the book for the longest time. Normally, he has more action and twists and this story took a little time for me to get off. It wasn't a bad book, I just found parts of it to be a little dragging. Considering the story and the depth, I would give it about a 3.5 star rating if there was one here.
