4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the busy English Teacher
The collection of literature units created by Ms. Collins are extremely well done. The lessons and activities are consistant and thorough for a complete unit study. Several different test options are provided as well as activities with varying levels of difficulty. This is the first set of literture units I've found that do not need to be adapted for classroom use...

2.0 out of 5 stars So much for so little.....
While this porduct is helpful I can't believe that the cost is so high for such a tiny program. What a waste. The CD the program came on can hold over fifty more Lit guides and still have plenty of room. I just find the price for the material very one sided.

The file may be useful but the profit margin is unbelievable.

This is the first set of literture units I've found that do not need to be adapted for classroom use. Just print and take to work. Many titles are available. Well worth the money!!!!

We should be getting more for the money.

I don't plan on buying any more Teacher Pet products after reviewing these two titles.

I agree with previous comments that the price for the CD is a bit high for what it has to offer. Additionally, a lot of the worksheets and lesson plans are very "right there" and don't offer a broad range for content expectations in my opinion. Additionally, there are not any grammar activities, which is what I am in need of most.

2.0 out of 5 stars Answers can be found online!, February 1, 2012
At first, this seems to be a great resource for Language Arts teachers. It has vocabulary activities and quizzes, study guide questions for all chapters, and quizzes based on those study guide questions. There are some inaccuracies and the level of depth is not that great, especially if you were planning on using this above the middle school level. I read this particular novel in 8th grade, so it at least seemed to be a good start. However, I have purchased these plans for more than one middle school novel and the study guide questions and answers always seem to end up online, where they can be found by students. Since the study guide question answers match word for word with the quiz questions, this makes the resource unusable. In fact, the publisher has a "sample" that can be viewed by anyone, which includes a direct copy of most of the first quiz for chapters 1-3. Is that a good idea? I have emailed the publisher twice with my concerns, as well as some websites where I was able to find the answers, but I have not heard back yet. That has to be some kind of copyright violation and I think the publishers need to be more savvy, because middle school children are certainly savvy! Otherwise, teachers who purchase this deserve a refund!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best I found for To Kill a Mockingbird, August 28, 2010

I don't understand the low ratings. The LitPlan contains 148 pages. Bound as a book that is a lot of pages for a literature plan! I literally searched for hours before deciding on this one. There are so many for this title available. The determining factor was the 3 essays assigned. For my 9th grade homeschooled son, that made the difference. Too many lesson plans and literature guides rely to heavily on vocabulary and chapter recaps. I didn't want that same old thing, it is boring!
