This is the definition of a punk rock classic,

This review is from: Kill The Poor (Ep) (Audio CD)
The Dead Kennedys defined political punk in the US, and this single is one of the reasons why. Released before the Reagan election, "Kill the Poor" talked about the complete apathy towards urban decay that was present even before massive budget cuts stripped many social programs of any potency. Biafra spews sarcasm in this song, happily cheering on the annihilation of those pesky unemployed and/or dark-skinned millions so that everyone else can party. The B-side, "In-sight," is about a kid in school who's an outsider and gets beat up for it. In the end he ends up living by his own rules. Although DK was famous for its shocking lyrics back in the 1980s, what's really shocking is that this single, released in 1980, is even more relevant in 2001.
