Waited with great anticipation to read this book after learning from a friend that it was in the works. As a person who was personal friends with Leonard, and very familiar with this whole nightmare, I must say the book is worth reading. The only thing I would say to Michael Sheetz is he should have sent a copy of this book to someone who was very familiar with this tragedy to proofread for errors. There is more than one "glaring" error in the book. Not only is the picture of Michael Travaglia mistaken, but the people carrying the casket of Leonard are not correctly identified. The pastor's name was repeatedly spelled wrong, as was Robin Davis. There is a portion of the book that never happened. There was never any kind of "commendation" presented to Mr. and Mrs. Miller by the then Mayor of Apollo, Dr. William Kerr. Mark Fetterman was not a police officer, he was the "new" mayor of Apollo.

I waited with much anticipation for this book and read it today. As someone who lived next door to John Lesko from the time he was 15, I have to say I was disappointed. While the book does a good job of describing the killing spree, there is so much more information that could have been presented, specifically pertaining to John. Yet, it appears that Mr. Sheetz did not investigate outside of the direct police and court personnel involved with the case. There was no discussion of crimes that John & Mike Lesko committed before this spree. This may be due to the fact that they may have been minors and the records are sealed, but living next door, I clearly remember that John joined the Marines as a last chance option to avoiding incarceration. There is so much more that could have been included and would have made this book a thorough, comprehensive account of one of the worst crime sprees in history. Instead, it gave us a glimpse. And the 30 year period since was only covered as an afterword in the book, and I think that is a huge part of the story.

It's a fast read and easy to get through, but from my perspective could have been much, much more.

I remembered hearing about this case as a youngster. However I did not fully know what had happened. After being in law enforcement I came to know about Ofc Leonard Miller. I wanted to know more & bought this book. It was good but I would like to know exactly what parts are fact & what are fiction. For the most part it was good if you want to know more about the crime spree of Lesco & Travaglia or the deaths of their victims.
