5.0 out of 5 stars Pizza Never Looked So Deadly . . ., October 19, 2001
This review is from: Case of the Killer Pizzas [VHS] (VHS Tape)
There are two episodes on this video:

"Case of the Killer Pizzas"
"Enter: The Fly"

Anyone who has followed the Ninja Turtles over the years knows that all the early episodes are classics. The first season, 1987, started if off with what are known as the five most well-known episodes of the series. The second season, 1988, followed it up with the timeless four-part series of "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles." And falling into that same category of Turtlean greatness is "Case of the Killer Pizzas."

This episode alone has long been a fan-favorite of viewers everywhere. There are a number of things that make it good, and one of the most notable of these is that it is actually legitimately scary at times. Where in later years the series moved into a more light-hearted approach, the earlier episodes, and this one especially, were a little bit darker in tone and storyline. I remember being honestly scared the first time I ever saw it, and that was over 10 years ago.

That's why this episode is a classic, in my opinion. I'm almost 20 year old now, and I still enjoy watching this episode and the rest of the series as a whole as much now as I did then.

If you're ever in the mood for some classic Ninja Turtle nostalgia, check out this episode or any other episode from the first couple of seasons and give it a whirl.

The other episode on this video is "Enter: The Fly." What's most notable about this episode is that Baxter Stockman is mutated into a human-sized fly. Baxter the Fly is one of the more recognized characters on the show, and this is the classic episode that set him into motion.

Two great episodes on one great tape. What more could you possibly ask for? . . . Sorry, man, but Amazon doesn't sell pizza along with the movie (although Michaelangelo would LOVE that, wouldn't he?). You're going to have to get that someplace else. :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Turtles Fighting Pizzas? Whudda Thunk It?, November 15, 1999
This review is from: Case of the Killer Pizzas [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Not actually pizzas, but monsters which hatched from Dimension X eggs posing as meatballs on the Green Team's pizzas, placed by the sinister Baxter Stockman. Speaking of Bax, in "Enter the Fly" Krang sends him to the disintegrator chamber, to be (duh!) disintegrated, but a fly buzzes into the chamber and.... Meanwhile the Green Machine are searching for the rare Doku plant, which is their only hope of reviving April after being poisoned by that mean ol' Shredder guy.
