Killer Samurai Bliss,

Another book of Djape's I've neglected to review until going through today.
The other reviewers all speak the truth! I'm absolutely mad for killer samurai sudoku, and wait with baited breath for any new publications (There has been a Number 3 published since this one. And a whole tribe of other variants). And I'll admit that there are one or two at the end that still elude me. So, if you're finding life too easy in puzzle world, get hold of this book! I'm not complaining about the small size of the number boxes, as I'd rather work a puzzle on one page! And my notation system is pretty streamlined nowadays. If you're new to samurai, you may want to try regular samurai puzzles( ie 5 puzzles interconnecting) before going onto the killer ones. Type in Djape to find a book of these. He's by far the best in my opinion. These involve an extra dimension where you must use your addition skills as well as the logic ones to find a solution. But it is definitely worth it, I promise.

These are my favorite Sudoku variation. I have now completed the four books in the series. They are challenging and entertaining and provide hours of enjoyment. Highly recommended.

Another DJape special. Lots of work to get through this one, although the puzzles are not as hard as they are in his other killer books

Great! I find that DJAPE has the most challenging puzzles of all puzzle books. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is hard to work in such a small area. A little bigger would have been nice.

I actually work on these with a friend, and we love them! She was an avid regular Sudoku player, and could whip right through a hard one of those-- so they were becoming a little mundane. This has brought the excitement back to the puzzles! I like it much better than Ken Ken since the cages cannot have repeat numbers and the added samurai complexity is truly fun. We just got the hard ones, which are well... very hard but we have hopes of learning some new technique to help get us through them!

DJAPE makes the best!!!,

DJAPE makes the best Sudoku books I can find and the Killer Samurai are the ultimate in challenging solving. One of these books lasts me for about a year. Unfortunately I am to the hard ones in vol. 2 and what will I do after that?? Second best to these are the Samurai Jigsaws. I wish DJAPE would make a whole book of those.

From Easy to Impossible,

If you're looking for challenging puzzles based on a sudoku-theme, you've found it. Things start out easy, and as someone's who's been through volume 1, I had no problem until the hard section. That's when things start seeming impossible at times. Then you get the ones with the X's which are actually easier since you have more information to work with (as long as you know how to use the X and make use of it). Then you get to the last five where most of the boxes are not part of a sum region. I couldn't make it through any of those.
