Absolute Defiance,
By "grindhead" (Connecticut USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
Who ever knew such grinding brutality could come out of Maryland. As far as I'm concerned Dying Fetus is the best grinding metal band out today. Always sounded to me like the blended Suffocation's speed with Internal Bleeding's thick and nasty riffs to create songs that make you want to SMASH and BREAK. Killing On Adreniline never leaves the rotation in my CD player. It is one of the best releases of the new wave of underground metal. I love the screaming and the real deep gutteral vox, they mix them up perfectly. I'm glad to see Relapse added them to there roster. Do yourself a favor, if you like grind and death pick this CD up, no way in hell will it let you down.

Dying Fetus Rules!,
By Whitby (NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
Another stunning album from my favorite death metal band. Clean drumming, killer riffs, and two unique vocalists with different tambres make this an awesome CD. The different vocal styles and riff variety keep the music from being repititve or boring. The only drawback I could find was the way the snare was tuned. I thought it sounded better on "Purification...", but that doesn't keep "Killing in Adreniline" from being one of the best death metal albums ever!

A MUST OWN Death Metal Album,
By LeechMaster (Northwest Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
With Suffocation calling it quits (let's hope not permanantly) Dying Fetus stands atop the mountain of supreme brutal, technical death metal. This album is a masterpiece from start to finish. Their unique and creative riffs are only enhanced by incredibly tight percussion and a dual vocal approach. This band is the total package. (And they can definately pull it off live).

KILL YOUR MOTHER!.. AND RAPE YOUR F***IN DOG!,

This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
I heard destroy the opposition before this and I didn't think
Dying Fetus could top that. Well was I wrong. The album before that(killing on adrenaline),was 10 times more brutal and technical...well they are both technical, but this one is faster. And yes, this is the catchiest deathmetal band out there that can be catchy without you getting sick of the music, like that crapy band six feet under. The music found on here does make your adrenaline flow and want to smash everything in your path. GREAT F**KING ALBUM!...I WILL HOPEFULLY SOON BUY THIS. ALSO RECOMENDED BY THIS BAND(IN ORDER) 1.INFATUATION WITH MELEVOLENCE,OR IF YOU CANT FIND IT GET GROTESQUE IMPALEMENT 2.DESTROY THE OPPOSITION 3.STOP AT NOTHING...<THAT SORT OF SUCKS GET THE TWO ABOVE BEFORE THIS 4.PURIFICATION THROUGH VIOLENCE (PS: Dying Fetus is quite possibly the greatest band I have ever had the pleasure listening to. All their albums should be in your collection if you are a fan of extreme, brutal, crushing, pissed off metal!)

KOA,
By Luke (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
The third album from Dying Fetus, the pummelling Killing on Adrenaline, contains eight crushing slabs of politically charged, brutal death-grind. KOA blends intense blasting with ferocious grooves, jaw-dropping technicality and their trademark dual vocal assault. Bassist/lyricist Jason Netherton handles mid-to-higher pitched vocal assualts while guitarist and band-leader John Gallagher delivers his trademark low, guttural burps. The production is thick and meaty with a raw, underground vibe.Killing on Adrenaline is a fine example of quality late 90's death metal with a tech edge and healthy stab of grind, expertly delivered by a band that has since gone on to become one of the most experienced, respected bands in the scene. The superior song-writing and musicianship, with a strong emphasis on technical chops and bludgeoning grooves, features enough time changes, catchy structures and pure aggression to demand repeated plays. This album also features the Dying Fetus debut of one of metal's elite modern drummers; Kevin Talley. Perhaps not quite as strong as the Relapse debut Destroy the Opposition; Killing on Adrenaline still remains one of the standout albums in the Dying Fetus discography-just before they hit the height of their powers.

... a nice bit o plastic to frighten your kid sister with!,
By Iain the "roz-zer" (Don't Go There, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
A metal masterpiece and unrelenting aural assault! Hard, fast and technical ... this band are up there with Cryptopsy. The drumming of one Kevin Talley demonstrates that he is one of the very best! And the guttural grunts and roars of the vocalists are served up with some damned fine guitar riffs ... there are even moments when the band (like Aussie sickos, Blood Duster) are actually grooving (in a chaotic, death metal-like way, of course) For me this album just has the edge on 'Destroy The Opposition' If I was forced (at gun point) to pick my favourite tracks I'd go with 'Kill Your Mother/Rape Your Dog' and 'Judgement Day' ... all in all a nice bit o plastic to frighten your kid sister with!

Best DF album!!!,
By Arachnotron (I don't know...) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
This album shows a great combination of brutal death metal, hardcore and grindcore!!!(DF's Destroy the Opposition was too hardcore-ish)... I know there are a lot of people who can't appreciate music like this(like the person below me)...but anyways, NE1 who digs into brutal DM music MUST GET this album!!! This album is really a masterpiece in it's genre, and I don't think there's any DF album that's more technical and musically better than this(Even though this album isn't their sickest effort). And also, this is DF's heaviest album, so I really highly recommend this to anyone who wants some skull battering, ear punishing musick!!!

Man I love this band,
By Jack (North Carolina) - See all my reviews

Love these guys - can't believe I just recently starting listening to em. This CD in particular is sick. If, for you, its all about the riff then these guys are top of the heap. Man, every damn CD by these guys is just killer!!! Buy this one without hesitation. Destroy The Opposition gets most of the love but I like this CD the best. Its close though as this band is consistently good. If you love this one... you will absolutely love Purification Through Violence as well.

The Fetus' Most Technical Work Yet,
By Bill Lumbergh "yeaahh..." (Initech) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Killing on Adrenaline (Audio CD)
Dying Fetus has always been one of the most interesting technical brutal death metal bands I have heard, and this album, "Killing on Adrenaline", is definite proof. First off, we have Kevin Talley behind drums, and last time I checked, he is an amazing technical blaster. John Gallagher is a unique vocalist with his mix of brutal death gutturals and his screams. The music is the most interesting. The band adds in a groove to prove that they're not just some monotone speed-fixated brutal death metal band, and they do this by adding in crunchy breakdowns to catch the ears. Again, we have excellent, complex song structures added in as well. The bass is technical and audible as well, especially in "We Are Your Enemy". I highly recommend this album if you enjoy the styles of Suffocation and early Internal Bleeding, which is brutal death with a dash of groove and technicality.
