Exciting history of the Cambodian church!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Killing Fields, Living Fields (Paperback)
While this book does provide a historical account of the formation and growth of the Cambodian evangelical church, I enjoyed it more for the exciting tales of what the Lord accomplished in the lives of these wholly committed believers.Their stories fill you with sorrow over the horrors they had to face in return for their faith, but they also fill you with awe at the amazing grace and deliverance shown to many of these saints as they served their Lord so faithfully. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the history of the Pol Pot era in Cambodia and especially to believers who are wish to be inspired by those who have been tested and found faithful.

Great portrayal of God at work,
This review is from: Killing Fields, Living Fields (Paperback)
A very vivid & inspiring account of missionaries at work in Cambodia! For someone like myself who doesn't know much about missionary work, especially in third world countries & during war time, it's a real eye & spirit opener! This book lets me witness God's abundant grace through many great Christians, bringing me tears on few occasions. I have a deeper understanding of what it means to be humble, to love, to have faith, & to commit as a Christian.

The Untold History of Cambodia,

This review is from: Killing Fields Living Fields (Paperback)
My wife is Khmer (Cambodian), we attend a Khmer Church in our local area. I have been to Cambodia 3 times, visiting family, and neighborhood villages. This book is far more than any normal missionary book you might have read before. The amazing strength of it's heroes has caused me to reflect on my own faith. The historical value goes beyond the normal political history of Cambodia; it puts a human face on it. This book is not so much about the missionaries who went into Cambodia, its about the kind of believers they left behind. You can always learn from the experience of Christians who live out the gospel in a diverse setting. Do not pass this off as just another missionary book. I promise you that you will enrich your faith by reading it. The Khmer Christian heroes in this book are now heroes that I want to pattern my life after.

Griping story that brings God much glory,
This review is from: Killing Fields Living Fields (Paperback)
This book has been very helpful for me to understand the Christian movement in Cambodia. The book is well written and full of description. It is almost as if I was living during the time in which the book was written. I agree with all of the other comments on the front and back cover that applauds Cormack's ability to tell a wonderful story. Please consider reading this book in order to understand the Christian movement in Cambodia.
