A Haunting Thriller About How War Changes People,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have to start out by saying that this was my all time favorite book. Goosebumps formed every time one of Ellie or her friends were close to getting caught. Sometimes I found myself holding my breath as they ran from danger or were forced into to killing cold blooded. I cried when Robyn lost her life saving the others. I never once found myself bored rather I was captivated by this book as it whisked me off to the front lines in Australia. I don't think I put "A Killing Frost" down for five hours as I absourbed every detail about this thrilling story. The description was exceptional and the way the author described the changes in each character as time progressed left me wondering what would happen to me in that situation.

Third in John Marsden's "Tomorrow" series, this book details what happens to Ellie and her friends (and fellow soldiers), as they continue to sabotage the enemy. This book is grimly realistic, as well as incredibly exciting, and the characters are very, very believable, even to the fallout and boredom. My only complaint is that only the first four or five have been released in the United States. A very good, exciting story.

ONE OF THE BEST!,

This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I think this book along with "burning for revenge"and "the other side of dawn"is one of the best.If you haven't read it yet I'd better not spoil it for you but they blow up something major ,get a little relief from the war and get one of their friends back.Idon't know why it's called "a killing frost" though because here in new zealand we call it" the third day the frost".Anyway READ THIS BOOK! just read the 1 and 2 first so you know what it's about

A Killer Frost is definitely one of the best books i have read and is the most exciting, suspenseful survival story i have ever read. The respect Marsden gives to these teenagers is amazing! This is definitely the best book in the series that i have read.

Loved the first three books of this series,

This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Hardcover)
This series is phenomenal up to and including the third book. I'm in Australia (where it is called "The third day, the frost") and have read the two books that follow "Frost" as well: "Darkness, be my friend" and "Burning for revenge". Numbers 1-3 really get the adrenaline pumping. You'll be addicted as soon as you pick one up. I remember walking around the house carrying my copy, finishing it at 4 am, my homework ignored. And at the end of number three... Oh man. I howled!!!! To this day the ending brings tears to my eyes. But I'm not going to tell you what happens - read it yourself, but Be Warned, you'll spend the next few weeks in mourning. 1-3 are an emotional rollercoaster, but I have to say that if you're in America and anxiously waiting for the next episode you may be disappointed. Seems to me that either "Darkness" is a spin-off of the first three, (i.e an attempt by Marsden to capitalise on his earlier success) or his publisher has been on his case to get out the next books in a hurry. At the end, the characters are left in pretty much the same situation as when this book began. None of their attempts at sabotage have any effect this time around and I was left feeling unsatisfied and cheated. Overall, boring, and fairly pathetic when compared to the earlier 3. Number 5 was slightly better, but these two have merged into one in my head. I forget what happened in which book. Yawn!!

Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!,

This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Hardcover)
I would just like to say, you've got one thing wrong, the fourth book in the Tommorow When The War Began series is not called 'The Killing Frost' it is in actual fact called, 'The Third Day, The Frost'. Why have has it been changed in the US? I think the original title is much better and it is how John Marsden would like it to be called. John Marsden is the most brilliant author to come out of Australia in years. His books, especially this series, are amazing. The characters become part of you, and they make you laugh and cry. It is must for every teenager around the world to read these books, it's a necessity. The only down side is that you never want them to finish, and when they do, you just want more and more. So a big thank you to John Marsden, of whom i have been lucky enough to meet on several occasions, and keep up the brilliant writing.

Strongest in the series,
By
This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Mass Market Paperback)
"A Killing Frost" is easily the strongest literary piece of Marsden's Tomorrow series. This third piece of the puzzle is emotional and extravagant and the resolution readers seek in literature is finally found. The series builds up to the content of this book. The story climaxes on different levels several times. The complex plot is easy to grasp and carries the reader along. One can be caught in Ellie's emotional struggles and relationships one moment and find himself fighting along physically the next. Marsden continues to use his words to describe fear and courage in a realistic and amazing manner. The thing that makes "The Killing Frost" stand above the other books in the series is that it can easily be viewed as a part of the series, but also manages to stand as a whole by itself. There is a complete story told in one book. It benefits readers who are unfamiliar with the series by concentrating on details of the present as well as informing the reader of the charachters' past experiences. For those who are familiar with the series, such attention to past events will bring back the memories and emotions of the previous two books.

A Thrilling Frost,
By Spenser (Ravensdale, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Hardcover)
A Thrilling Frost By the time a reader has gotten to this addition in the series it is most likely they have been captivated by the first two novels in the series, Tomorrow when the War Began and The Dead of Night and have also become used to the Aussie slang terms. The Author John Marsden immediately gives the impression that this is merely another Adventure story. But the characters are all involve in a love life of their own, which at times, evolves into much more intimate scenes.

Great Thriller, Like No Other,

This review is from: A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is one of my favorite books that I've read. It is the last book of a series, and after reading this one I plan on reading the others. The story was about a girl named Ellie and her friends who try to help their country when it goes into war, they try to attack the enemy without getting caught. Every time they get close to getting caught, I would get Goosebumps! The author filled the books with tons of great, vivid details. " To come to Cobbler's Bay during wartime and find ugly growths all over it and great monstrous ships sitting in its innocent water, like big metal leeches, made me both angry and unhappy." (Page 83) I had no trouble picturing everything in my head. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read thrilling and capturing books. When you start reading it, you never want to put it down. The characters that the author created were very realistic with their own personalities that make them sound even more real. I gave this book 5 stars!

I loved this book!,

I have read John Marsden's 5 other books, and all of them were great. Unfortunately, I started reading his books some time ago and am beginning to forget what things were in what book. I finished his 6th book, Burning for Revenge, in November, and am forced to wait some months, until his next (and last I think) book is released. John Marsden, is possibly the best youth author of our time. I am looking forward to his 7th book, but not to finishing it!
