Get this book!,
This review is from: Killing Hope (Gabe Quinn Thriller) (Kindle Edition)
This book was a whirlwind! Once I was caught up in it, I found that I could not stop reading it. I read the last 100 pages in a white hot fury.
Gabriel Quinn is a detective with a heart, a troubled heart, but a heart nonethless. I had no trouble at all putting myself in his place. The best fiction causes one to identify with the character. This one started slow and then started blasting out unexpected revelations at a blistering pace. I seriously thought I knew who the killer was and then, I was sadly mistaken. This is a recommendation for a huge voice in thriller writing. Keith Houghton is the man to watch! Thanks, Keith, for such a great read!

I agree with all the other reviews...this book was absolutely FANTASTIC and I LOVED every second of it!!! I had an extremely hard time putting this book down but since I have the Kindle app on my phone, I was able to sneak in as much reading as possible wherever I went.I also fell in love with Gabe's character right away. There were so many twists and turns in this book. The ending especially blew me away and had my head spinning! I read a lot of crime thrillers so I usually figure out a good bit of what will happen and how things will turn out. But with this book I had no idea what would happen from one page to the next and I was downright shocked all the way to the end. There were certain points where I just couldn't believe what was happening! The way the clues were laid out had me dying to know how everything would come together. I also really loved the style of writing that another reviewer referred to as movie-like. A lot of crime thrillers are good but forgettable...I will not soon forget "Killing Hope!" I can't wait for the next book! It can't come soon enough!!!

Killing Hope, I am not a crime drama book kinda of a guy but a friend recommended the book to me. I have spent the last three days engrossed in the story. Within the first several chapters you begin to like Gabe, rough, worn down by his past. So many times I thought a had something figured out, and then bam...totally wrong. The characters you meet in the book, some you love and some you HATE kinda bounce around in your head like old friends. No spoilers, but the ending will completely stunning you. I completely recommend this book to any fan of crime drama and even to you that like me are not a big fan of criminal drama.

Gabe Quinn, the protagonist of Killing Hope (Gabe Quinn Thriller #1), is not just another burnt out LAPD detective clocking off at 5. He's more of a terrier, never letting go.The story got me and held my interest enough that I'm lacking sleep today having kept reading last night till I finished the book. The author gives us tantalising hints about Gabe's history that I hope will be fleshed out more in later books. I didn't like the interplay between Gabe and the almost faceless FBI agents - I found it difficult to believe adults would behave that way - but this was only a very small part of the story. I'm a great fan of Harry Bosch and have read all the Bosch books. Gabe Quinn is on his way to becoming another Harry Bosch.

I started reading this almost a week ago and was immediately taken by Keith Houghton's ability to set up scenes. His imagery is excellent. Keith's characterizations are as real as I've ever seen from any other author. I was glued to 'Killing Hope.' When I read something as good as this, I often think, 'What is Hollywood doing spending their time on re-makes and sequels when there's incredible stories like this one to draw from.' This is first rate. Pick this up soon.

This is my first ever Amazon review. I read a lot, mostly detective type novels and science fiction. Mark my words, we are seeing the emergence of a major new talent here. I read this book straight through and enjoyed it immensely. If you enjoy detective stories, buy this book. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Keith. I will be buying Uth as soon as I finish this review. Will we be seeing Gabe again? I sure hope so.

I purchased this book because I like miseries and the ratings were favorable. I was not disappointed in the slightest. UNPREDICTABLE, good pace, and entertaining. You will not be disapointed.
