This book should be a must read for all students regarding the History of a great President. When I was in high school (50) years ago, there were no specifics regarding Lincoln's last days, other than Booth shot him, also, no other individuals were mentioned, excellent book regarding content and historical perspective.

If history books were like this when I grew up, I would've enjoyed history. It is a shame that people that disagree with Bill organized against his book here on Amazon.com

The amount of information covered and uncovered was astonishing. I listened while driving and more than once, found myself sitting in a parking space waiting for a more appropriate place in the story to turn it off. Probably idled away at least a gallon of gas. Great story of history with unbelieable detail!!!!!!

I listened to the audio version of KILLING LINCOLN on a long road trip to visit colleges with my teenage son. We both enjoyed it. The story centers around President Lincoln's assassination and the time periods both immediately before and after the assassination. Authors Bill O'Reilly AND Martin Dugard bring to life for the reader/listener the drama of the event. The leg pain and cold John Wilkes Booth felt as he hid in the Maryland swamps to the futile hope Mary Surratt felt as she waited for a pardon are brought to life for the reader/listener. I look forward to further historical books by the authors.

I would have appreciated History class a lot more if I had books like this around then. I don't know what all the errors a few small-minded people are referring to. I really didn't think I would particularly enjoy this book and I can't believe I could not put it down once I started. Also, it has now made it easier for me to choose Christmas presents for my friends. I know they will enjoy and treasure this book as much as I do.
