5.0 out of 5 stars This is great music
This is one of the best soundtracks ive ever heard. It has the unique feature of having the 2 best songs in the film not in the soundtrack, and the two best songs on the soundtrack not in the film. Wierd huh. The end credits and the trip down the stairs have great tunes which are sadly missing from the CD, (one of them is present but a different version sung by a bloke)...

3.0 out of 5 stars To Be completely honest,
I feel this album could of been a lot more like the movie than anything, the ending song in the movie sung by a female is sung by a male on the cd,and that was the reason I bought the darn thing, the rest is ok,I love industrial and trance and this just isn't real pleasing to my ears.

Wierd huh. The end credits and the trip down the stairs have great tunes which are sadly missing from the CD, (one of them is present but a different version sung by a bloke) but the tunes 'flying home' and 'But you must' are just as good. This CD happily sits in my collection next to my best Industrial CDs, and is excellent. See the film first though as these tunes might not be to everybody's taste!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whoa, March 21, 2002

This review is from: Killing Zoe: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
The film "Killing Zoe" completely blew me away when I saw it, telling the tale of an American safe cracker who becomes romantically involved with a prostitute and is then caught up in a Paris bank robbery in which heroin sends the whole plan crashing down. The score behind the film is awesome and intriguing, playing a continuos line of trippy, acid-like trance blended with constantly twisting and bending industrial synth-music.

Every track on the soundtrack serves its purpose, from the fast-paced slap bass opening track of "Go!", through the trance-like and haunting "Entering The Bank", winding all the way down to the uplifting "Flying Home".

Tomandandy are some of the best mixers and trance artists I've heard, and its a shame that this album, as well as the majority of their remixes, go so unheard of. The way some of the tracks on here start out mellow and then snap into adrenaline-pumping techno speeds is a real rush, especially in "Red Drugs", "Entering The Bank", and "But You Must". The more mellow tracks serve for a trippy, dazed, almost acid-tripping influence, particularly on "Clarinets", "Ambient Dixie", and "Canaan". Other than that the rest of the tracks are just plain bizarre and a wild ride, especially "Safe Heroin".

The only complaint is that the version of "Canaan" on here is different and less thrilling as the exotic, danceable version included in the ending credits of the actual film, as well as the one other track which is missing from the soundtrack which takes place during the robbery as Oscar is coming down the stairs to the vault. Those small complaints aside, this is some really amazing electronic music, some of which is fast-paced and rushing, while some sits pleasently next to Boards Of Canada's work. Don't hesitate to check this out.

I love this soundtrack so much, I already own the CD, I just don't know where it is, so I bought the MP3s because I wanted to listen to them again.

For those who thought that Guy Ritchie or Quentin Tarantino were trendsetting. Or for those who'll just watch anything with the breathtaking Julie Delpy ...
