5.0 out of 5 stars the killingtons are awesome, December 3, 2000

I literally stumbled onto this band, but am ever so glad. I was checking out a local msuic stores webpage and you could sample the Killingtons from there. I used napster instead to downlaod a couple songs of the Killington's self titled album. Its hard to describe how this music moved me. "All my friends are Vampires" was the first song i heard and it blew me away. I had to have the album. The REAL THING. No burned copy. The REAL ALBUM. It's Beautiful. The lyrics, the riffs blend together amazingly. I immediately went to the record store and bought it (after the clerk had a hard time finding it, i wasn't leaving without it). The Killingtons hit me on the inside, it moved me. I love this record. I urge you to get "the killingtons", expecially if you like this genre of music because i feel it is one of the best full albums ive heard with songs that stick out too ("all my friends are vampires" and "the best i know"). So you have an idea of what i listen to can understand why i love this band, its album and this type of music, heres a list of bands i listen to: the get up kids; the juliana theory; the ataris; weezer; the deftones; face to face; reggie and the full effect; idlewild; nada surf; the pixies; radiohead; built to spill; drive like jehu; jimmy eat world; saves the day; the anniversary; THE KILLINGTONS.

Have fun with this album. It will move you, in a great way.

I don't have enough space here to type everything I could about this amazing record, so I will simply state that it is Top 10 of all time material and anyone who doesn't own it should.

Also, please note JK, the singer/guitarist from The Killingtons is back in action with a new band by the name of THE SECRET 6. You can download 3 of their new demos at www.myspace.com/thesecret6 and if you live in SoCal you can probably see them live too. The same page has their show dates.

Fantastic stuff!

Inspired alternative rock album. This is the only way you can describe "The Killingtons". Tracks run over the player like a river of notes and sounds that can be even too much to take all at once.

If you like alternative rock, this album will blow you away.

Just wanted to say that this CD is in my Top 5 all-time indie/emo/punk list. AND they aren't broken up anymore, they're currently touring and their new EP is brilliant. Buy this CD.

Holy Hell! This album is something the music industry needed. Our cd-player's have been flooded with garbage..over the past few years. But finally, we have something that stands out...and allows you to be proud of owning an album. It's a new sound...and something that should stay underground...so if anyone buys it after reading this....enjoy....you've earned it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Long Beach group, ever!, April 12, 2002
This review is from: Killingtons (Audio CD)
People might say that Sublime was the best, but dont let them fool you, the pure creativity and emotion poured out by the killingtons destroys that of sublime and most other groups. basically what i am saying is buy the cd, they have now officially broken up in mid-march, and this and American Made is your only taste you will ever have of them. This cd is the best investment for anyone who likes My Bloody Valentine, Catherine Wheel, Charlatans UK, and some Dinosaur Jr. you will not be disappointed, so go buy it now!!!

Blows away most anything that's been on the radio in recent memory. Why this band isn't signed I don't know. Also great live! Each time I look at my cd collection for something to play I grab this record. You should too.
