5.0 out of 5 stars The Bailey City Monsters Kilmer's Pet Monster by Marcia Thornton Jones and Debbie Dadey, January 3, 2006
A Kid's Review
This is a story about how Jane, Ben, Annie & Kilmer Hauntly want to enter the Bailey City Pet Contest for the most unusual and talented pet. The problem is that they need to find a pet that is very unusual, to win the first place prize of a new red bike. Kilmers friend Priscilla Pocus said that Kilmer could use her pet Bruno, but do they really want him? The kids think that Bruno may be a monster. On the day that the contest is to begin, Bruno was acting up, so they couldn't take him. Instead, they used Kilmers spiders: Minerva, Elvira, and Winifred; Kilmers cat, Sparky also came with them. Ben & Kilmer went up on the stage when it was their turn and said a spell over the spiders that Priscilla Pocus had taught them. Once they said the spell, the spiders stood on their heads and they also dove into a bowl of water, and Kilmers cat did the same thing too! Issy a girl from their class with her bird Filbert were also in the contest, but Izzy was going to try to get Kilmer and Ben disqualified for not training their pets by themselves, but with witch craft! The kids were afraid that Izzy would get the Hauntleys chased out of town for being monsters! So they had Priscilla Pocus put a spell on Izzy's bird Filbert to say embarassing things about Izzy, which he did and Izzy ran away. So in the end the judges said that Kilmers cat Sparky was the best pet and Kilmer won the new bike. Kilmer wasn't happy about this, and his friends asked him why. He said that he liked Bens old, black, scratched up bike better. So he and Ben traded bikes and everyone was happy.
I liked this story, it was funny and I want to read other Bailey City Monster books in the future.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst story in the Bailey School Kids series, October 31, 2006
A Kid's Review
I hated this story so much because of a couple of things:
1. It didn't have the main characters in it.
2. The main characters of the whole series only appears in one chapter.
3. It didn't have strange people in it.
4. It didn't explain the point.
I highly do not reccomend this story for people who read the Bailey School Kids series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kilmer's Pet Monster, March 22, 2002
A Kid's Review
I like this book because there was this pet contest the kids are going to have at Bailey Elementary School. Kilmer, (a boy that looks kind of like a frankenstein) has a pet named Bruno. His pet is a mysterious pet and noone ever saw it. Ben a friend of Kilmer was going to borrow Kilmer's pet spider because Kilmer's grandmother, a witch put a spell on those spiders. Kilmer didn't take Bruno at the pet contest because it was out of control and wouldn't get on the leash, but Ben shared the spiders with Kilmer.
