Basil Poledouris touches on every genre there is jazz, new age, classical and even bits of rock, with this Varese Sarabande release - "Kimberly". Poledouris composes one of the loveliest themes from this years stable of scores, great melodies with so much rhythm, texture and tender emotion, quite freshing.
"MAIN TITLE", opens with baroque-style, then full scale orchestra, with simple melodic passages..."THE RACE", main theme pops in and out, massive horn, with haunting trumpet solo, blending well with sweeping strings, touched off by thrusting percussion..."GUY MONTAGE", beautiful acoustic guitar opening, strings blend, slight percussion evolving into a saxopone performance..."PROPOSAL/FINALE" and "END CREDITS", capturing every major theme, our composer pulls out all the stops.
Poledouris has come a long way with this monumental score for "movie-music" collectors, so go out grab yourself a copy...sit back and soak up some fantastic listening!
