I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the, 'how they first met,' theme or if I'm going to move to the end of Leila and Tucker's relationship and write about their lives with the babies. We'll see how it all works out. Here's what I have so far....
If one of his friends had said they’d fallen in love at first sight Tucker would have punched the guy in the place where his nuts used to be. Real men don’t fall in love with a woman they’ve never met. They might fall in lus
“I Shawna Elizabeth Bradley being of sound mind and slightly pudgy body, do solemnly swear to marry David Bencivenne and spend the rest of my life with a man whose last name I can barely pronounce let alone spell.” Shawna shifts her gaze from the image of her veiled face in the mirror and laces her fingers together to stop the trembling. Taking a cleansing breath she squeezes her eyes shut. A wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of a woman’s li
I am attempting what some writers might consider impossible. I am working on Shawna's and Tucker's stories simultaneously. It's going well so far, but at some point I'm assuming one or the other books will take precedents. I will keep you all posted on my progress. Wish me luck!
I know I have been saying that book 4 Crazy Right would be released soon, I'm terrible with deadlines and I've been misleading you all since October but I finally finished and made it public tonight. I hope you all have a chance to pick it up and let me know what you think. If you have comments or questions please drop me a line at kimberlys,firstname.lastname@example.org, As always thanks for your support!
This is the first draft of the new book cover. My little brother drew the picture of Sarah walking along the sidewalk dropping chocolate kisses. I might change the font of the title but this is most likely what the new cover will look like.
I decided to start each chapter with a quote that tells a bit about the chapter. Here are some of the quotes.
“He who marches out of step hears another drum”
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Lawrence Hauben--- One of Sarah’s favorite movies for obvious reasons
Tomó solo minutes para presentarme con ella. Tomó solo un dia para amarla. Tomara toda mi vida para olvidarla. Translation: It took minutes to meet her. To fall in love just one day. But it woul
I've made some changes to Sarah's story. This is the revised first chapter. Tell me what you think...
“He who marches out of step hears another drum”One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Book by Ken Kesey movie by Lawrence Hauben--- One of Sarah’s favorite lines for obvious reasons
When I think about some of the things I’ve done over the years I cringe. I punched my summer camp director on the boob when I was seven years old because she r
I've gotten several request to put a rush on Sarah's story. I'm going to try my best to get the book done within the next four months. I've changed the perspective and I'm writing the story in first person present tense just like the other stories are written. It was difficult at first because Sarah represents the nuttier part of my brain and I don't want to tap into it for very long.
I'll let you all know how it's progressing and feel free to send an emai
I've been hard at work on Ms. Independent and it's finally done. I'm waiting for the book cover and I plan to post the book this Sunday night which means it will be available Monday morning. I will send out an email to everyone on my mailing list.
Thank you all for hanging in there with me!
All the best,
I hope everyone's doing well. The book is coming along well. As of today I'm a little less than halfway done. I wanted to be done by the end of January but I'm going to need more time. If you're on my mailing list I will send out an email the day before I post the book. Thanks again to everyone who has written and offered words of encouragement. I really appreciate the support!
If you're interested in being added to the mailing list please ema
Here is a sample of Ms. Independent. Please let me know what you think!
My beauty shop is in the worst part of Compton. When you step outside the front door you might think you’ve entered a third world country. There are addicts and dealers, transients and thieves. Block after block of small businesses have been forced to close because of the economy. But Nappies Beauty Salon has been going strong for more than twenty years. My aunt Cl
I have contacted Amazon several times about their system uploading the content incorrectly. If your book has missing words please contact Amazon because the problem is with their system. I'm very sorry about the inconvenience! I hope you all manage to get a working copy of the book you've been waiting for for so long.
I hope you're all enjoying Finding Nickie! It took a lot longer than I planned and still at only 50,000 words it ended up a novella rather than a novel. However, the story will continue with Ms. Independent, Keisha's story. Any questions you have at the end of Finding Nickie will be answered in Ms Independent.
I know I promised the book would be out by today but it really needs to be edited by someone other than me in order to prevent the pitfalls of A Love Like This. The book will be out soon and I will send an email the minute it's posted. Please hang in there with me!
I've hit a few bumps in the road while writing Finding Nickie. It was a lot more difficult than I thought to write without constant feedback from writers. However, I plan to post it this weekend (good, bad or indifferent). If you're on my mailing list I will send out an email letting you know exactly when the story is published. Thanks again for your patience. As always feel free to contact me if you have questions or comments.
All the best,Kim
Chapter 1 It was only supposed to be a one night stand. I think to myself as I reach across the cold mahogany desk for the thick stack of forms. I watch the social workers lips as she speaks. She sounds as if she’s talking under water. “Ms. Peterson,” She says. “Are you sure this is what you want?” I wish she would stop asking me that question. It’s all I’ve thought about for the last nine
I just want you all to know that Nickie's story will pick up where Leila's left off. I know that a few of the readers are disappointed with the way the book ended but it had to end somewhere. Nickie's story will answer all of your questions I promise! Thanks again for reading 'A Love Like This.' Please check the blog for the release date of 'Finding Nickie.'
Part 4 is available. Please let me know if you've been following the story and you have missing chapters. I would be happy to post previous chapters. The next book will pick up where 'A love Like this' left off. The next book will be about Nickie. I'm leaning towards 'Finding Nickie' for the title. I will post the entire book when it's complete. Posting the chapters was not the best idea.
I just posted chapters 12 and 13. I know I promised three chapter but chapter 14 covers all of the details that 12 and 13 left out. I don't want to forget anything so I'm going to take a few more days to get it right. In chapter 12 we find out why all the characters say Keisha is crazy. In chapter 13 Leila meets some of Tucker's family members for the first time and she finds out she already knew others. Chapter 14 presents a challenge because of Mike's secrets, Lei
I hope you are all enjoying chapter 11. It was fun to write but the next chapters are giving be a hard time. Writing about Nickie and Damian's relationship is difficult because I want her to be braver but it doesn't seem to be working out that way. I'm also having a hard time with the way I'm portraying black men in the story. I've been in an interracial marriage for twelve years but I still love black men. There's something regal and special about a black man but s
Hello to my five faithful followers. Chapter 11 will be available in a few hours. It's Leila and Tucker's first night as a married couple. Leila's bun is gone for good because the itch has been scratched. They're living a fairytale right now but things aren't always as perfect as they seem. In the chapters that follow the couple finds out that married life is a lot more than they bargained for. Leila's birthday and spring break are approaching. The
