Ordered this after "misplacing" the original AC adapter for our Canon Vixia HF20. This works with it no problem. I also have an extra non OEM battery for the camera and this worked with it also.

I lost the power cord to my Canon video camera in the move from Wisconsin to Arizona. The camera was six years old, and I had doubts I'd find one that worked, but this Kinamax cord works great. I checked out dozens of websites before I found the cord on Amazon. My camera is a ZR85, which wasn't even listed in the Canon models this cord would work with. I feel really really lucky -I love this camera.

I ordered this when the charger for my HV30 went missing. I was worried that somehow it wouldn't do as good a job as the original charger, but I plugged it in, plugged in my camera and 'voila!' my camera charged and I was back in business. No regrets.

I've misplaced my original charger for the Canon Vixia HG20. I bought the Wasabi Power charger around 4th of July last year and I've used it 4 times or so. I don't use my camcorder too often so I haven't been charging it much, but it works like the original. I've been able to charge my canon battery and my generic battery and there's no warning about it not being a canon power cord. My battery icon display just fine on the screen. I have to plug in my camcorder while transferring my clips to the computer and it works fine.

I needed a spare charger for my Canon HF-S100 camcorder. While this is NOT an original, Canon-brand adapter, it does claim specific compatibility for my model in the description. The camcorder itself has an annoying restriction of requiring it be plugged in while downloading videos to your computer, so it's less hassle to get a spare adapter for no matter where it is when not in use.

The price was reasonable and it arrived exactly as depicted in the image. The plug fit perfectly, it charges the battery just as fast, and it has the same 90-degree turn on the camcorder plug portion as the original. The only "concern" is that the non-removable wire attached to the adapter is relatively thin. No doubt more than enough to carry the small amount of current the camcorder needs but it is thinner than the original. Just something to be aware of - wouldn't want to put it somewhere it might kink. And could actually be a benefit if you want to mount it semi-permanently and route the cable discretely (as I have).

It's been daily charging my camcorder for 2 months now with no issues, so I call that a success.

After misplacing my original Power Adapter for my Canon HG20, I purchased this Adapter. And all I could really say is... it works.

Fast, inexpensive replacement for a charger that was misplaced. Works just as well as the Canon charger at a fraction of the price.

I read other reviews where buyers had a problem that a charger would only work once. I chalked it up to user issues or bad equipment. Well, I should have listened. That's exactly what happened to me. I plugged it in, it charged both of my batteries, once. Now neither of them will charge. Also every time I plug the charger in, it throws sparks! I'm REALLY hoping it didn't damage my camera or batteries.

If you're looking for a replacement charger for the vixia, search amazon for CA-570. There's a canon replacement for 20$ I strongly suggest finding the canon part number for your camera and looking for it here rather than getting an after market power adapter, for some reason, the canon replacement didn't come up in the amazon search for 'hf s100 power adapter'

This Kinamax power adapter works perfectly with my Canon VIXIA HV40 HD HDV Camcorder w/10x Optical Zoom - 2009 MODEL, both for charging standard and third party batteries, as well as providing power while recording or playing back on the camcorder.

The charger is not the same one shown in the product picture (as of this review date), but is good quality, fairly small sized, doesn't get hot at all, and has a reassuring green power indicator.

Highly Recommended! Just a note on Prime next-day shipping, I realized that my OEM charger was missing last night at about 5:00PM and Amazon was able to get me this before noon today! This was a real life saver since my son's school play is tonight and my wife would have been very displeased with me if we couldn't tape it.

I paid $95.00 for this same adaptor by going to canon site. When we left adaptor at hotel, I went to amazon first instead of returning to canon site for replacement. This was a bargain and every bit as good in function needed.
