A Great Find,

This review is from: My Kind of Freak (Audio CD)
Yvonne Doll and the Locals are a Chicago area band that's been gaining ground in the last few years. Their style is unique and ranges from folksy to downright funky. This is the followup CD to "Bliss" which was much more scaled back and acoustic. This CD pulls all their best together and really delivers a fine work. The Locals music is catchy and clever. It deserves a listen! My fave is the bouncy "Sugar Buzz" but on the other end of the spectrum is the ballad "Demystify." "Whose shoes are on the wire" ranks right up there on my list and is a reincarnation of a much earlier work from Yvonne's coffeehouse days. All in all, a good listen.
