2010 NAPPA Honors Award In something of a stylistic tour de force, The Hipwaders deliver a brilliant, if somewhat brief, set of original rock songs to celebrate the season. From baroque pop, to blues, to post-grunge, A Kindie Christmas the contemporary pop rock landscape with their cool arrangements and warm vocals. (I also enjoyed and appreciated its thoughtful packaging, which allows the CD to be addressed and sent as a Christmas gift/card.) I enjoyed this integral set in its entirety, but my favorite quickly became the latin-flavored Christmas Vicuna, about a Vicuña (sort of a South American camel) who dreams of being a reindeer. Maybe the only song featuring a Vicuña, in any genre. And nine original Christmas songs--okay, eight and a reprise--is nothing to sneeze at, either. Candy! "The album is a genuine gem of Christmas tunes - all original, some more Christmas than others, fantastic sounds throughout. It was worth the 20 year wait. Well done, 'Waders, one and all!" --A Christmas Yuleblog
