Not as good as it should be December 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
M.G. has other excellent products, especially his Free Kindle Books blog, so I didn't hesitate to buy this Kindle Fire guide. I was especially looking forward to his tips on 'free content', as he phrased it in that blog. Unfortunately, the only free 'content' he really gets into is free books - a subject he has also covered in his Free Books ebook. While it is fine and good to reprise that info here, other types of content are not really discussed ... i.e. Music, Video, Apps, Newsstand, Blogs. No mention of the Free App of the Day, which is very easily accessed with the Fire; all the free Mp3s Amazon offers are not covered; Prime Videoes are given short shrift; and the free apps that give access to other free content, such as CrunchyRoll or news and blog readers, get no mention at all.

Also, the how to use the Fire info is very basic and simplistic (and rather repetitive) - sort of Fire for Utter Noobs - with screen by screen instructions, rather than having further useful info, such as what is on the settings screen, or even something as simple as how to see your Fire's email address in the settings instead of having to navigate to the Manage Your Devices page using the web browser.

Altogether a dissapointment for those familiar with Kindles and some basic understanding of electronic devices. Might be more useful to those for whom the Fire is their first Kindle. It is very well formatted and looks great on the Fire.

Very thorough...must have! December 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Have just glanced through it so far but it looks like it covers everything a new Kindle Fire owner needs to know. I've been a subscriber to Michael's blog since I got my K3 and have come to rely on him for tips and how-to's as well as his links and advice on how to get all kinds of free kindle books. I'm still learning all that there is to do with my Fire and having a wonderful time!

Thanks, Michael and have a wonderful Christmas!

This book is downloaded onto the Kindle so I can reference whenever and wherever I am. It does cover the working of the Kindle well. I would order again.

Helpfulness
This instructional book is helpful. I did have a bit of trouble finding subjects that I was looking for in the index. Probably people more tech-savvy would not have that problem.

Disappointed...
This book has an appealing title, but it is not worth buying. It is very shallow. Very few tips that are not covered in the Fire's user's manual. Read more
