I'll never forget back in the 90s when CD burners were a new thing and burning a disc was more art than science. A burning forum I followed had a CD burning haiku contest. The winning entry stuck in my mind all these years later:

Gaze at my CD
My data looks back at me
Does it feel joy too?

No more haiku entries? :(

Maybe a Friday *bump* will help...

OK friends, it's time to review the haiku rules per the IHF (International Haiku Federation):

A haiku consists of 17 syllables. In English, these are three metrical phrases (or lines).

5 syllables
7 syllables
5 syllables

I'm afraid the last three entries are disqualified on the basis of non-conformity. I assume that's not a first for Dog or Calvin. :)

Ah David, the classic rules of Haiku have long changed - kerouac and many others challenged and changed forms as it should be.

Haiku rules

the old ones are good
The later ones have freed us
It is fine to change

Ack. Change.

Must resist. :)

RESISTANCE

Change some may resist
It is understandable
Yet it will and is

Selena says:
AND CHANGE IS OK

all things do transmute
It is the way of nature
sometimes it is hard
but it is of the future
and now
