Book Description

“Kindle, How To Publish, Promote & Profit” is a step-by-step blueprint that will guide readers through the formatting process, and explain every detail of what is needed to create awareness for their book, and drive targeted 'ready-to-buy' prospects to the Amazon sales page.  Readers will learn how to make “noise” online that gets the attention of search engines and the people (prospective buyers) looking for information related to your book's topic.

You can publish your book TODAY on Kindle!

However, finding people to buy your book is the greater challenge. “Kindle, How To Publish, Promote & Profit” provides a marketing strategy for online promotion. You will learn how to position your book to increase your rank in search results using resources that deliver proven, time-tested effects.  As the title suggests, this is a ‘how-to’ book about Kindle publishing, but MOST importantly the primary focus is about marketing and promoting your book for maximum success and profits.

The devil is in the details

Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) provides much of what you need to self-publish your book and for the most part it is an easy process – if you know exactly what to do. The devil is in the details and specifics such as formatting your manuscript correctly, designing a compelling cover, pricing your book to sell and how to promote your book to maximize sales are critical elements that Amazon omits. Some of the things you will learn from this book include:

  • How to ensure you choose the best title that will drive more sales

  • Formatting tips to improve how your book appears on a Kindle

  • Where to find expert cover designers on the cheap

  • How to make your Amazon sales page sizzle

  • Branding you – and your book

  • Attracting a targeted audience

  • Pricing your book to sell

  • Where to get a free domain name for your book promotion efforts

  • How to develop ‘Social Proof’

  • How to leverage Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest to increase sales

  • How to create additional revenue streams with your book

  • How to sell your book utilizing other sales channels

  • And a whole lot more...

This is NOT a book about how to write a book!

The book purposely avoids subjects such as grammar, sentence structure, conflict resolution, protagonists, antagonist or any of the countless topics involved in the creative writing process.  YOUR book what you bring to the table; helping you sell more of your books is the author’s objective. As a marketing professional with a twenty year record of Internet promotional expertise, he has consulted with TV personalities, NFL celebrities and Fortune 500 companies, but his primary focus is helping small businesses market their products and services online.  His other books include the SEO & Social Media Marketing Guide (a Kindle book) and a print book, "The Complete Small Business Internet Guide".

5.0 out of 5 stars Meeting Mr Kindle for the First Time May 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Tom Heatherington's new book is not only an eye opener to the possibilities of publishing on Kindle but, dare I say it, will become the go to resource for all prospective Kindle publishers.
This book is exhaustive in its reach and the resources Tom includes are extensive. There is enough information here to help anyone get started. Some of the terms may be a little daunting for a complete Newbie to the Internet but the book is written in a style that doesn't talk down to the complete novice and you get the feeling that here is a guy that knows his chops and is getting a buzz about teaching his licks!
This is not a book that you can read from cover to cover in one sitting there is just so much to take in.Tom has been around the Internet block since 1993 and he is without doubt someone to listen to and learn from. Amazing experience especially after reading 17 Kindle How-To books over a weekend. You'll need plenty of coffee and a comfortable chair.Thank you for a wonderful book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand! September 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I decided to read this book a second time and try a few of the tips before I wrote my review. First of all, I need to say that this book was very well written and easy to understand, even by somebody who is not an expert. The tips that the author gives are easy to use and really work. I've read several other books on how to market and sell my books, but none of them can come close to this one. Mr. Heatherington has so many useful tips that I'll have to read this several more times. Some of his tips are worth more than the price of the book, so I feel like I got this book for free. I plan to implement some of his tips to launch my novels!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic guide for writers in this new age August 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am new to kindle, having only just figured out to buy kindle books without a kindle proper, and besides that, I have a book on the backburner that I am about to release, so when I saw this I just had to grab it, as it seems to cover everything I need to know.

The thing I like about it, besides being incredibly easy to use, is that it is extremely comprehensive: questions are answered about Kindle, there are suggestions about the actual mechanics of creating the document/file, one is walked through every step in the Kindle sign up and submit process, as well as how to promote and sell and where - wow, so many resources! EVERYTHING IS COVERED. I repeat, nothing I need to know as a future Kindle author is left out. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It's like I have a friend holding my hand throughout the whole process.

I am very strict about the number of stars I give for my reviews as you'll see if you take the time to read my reviewer's profile, but this is definitely a 5 star product, and the price is incredible!!

This was an awesome read. Kindle - How To Publish, Promote & Profit had some solid information.
I've read other similarly titled books but this one is very thorough and gets right down to what
you need to know without the fluff. Cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only Kindle marketing book you need June 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you are self-publishing kindle eBooks or hoping to make money with kindle books, every author will tell you that promotion is the secret to success. If you have bought any of those other kindle promotion books (as I have done) you already know that most are hype-driven, poorly written and contain very little actionable information. This book is not only the exception to the hype, it is packed with information and tips you won't find anywhere else. The author obviously know what he is talking about and his writing style is clear, easy to understand and actionable. Read this before you do anything about marketing your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ready to publish thanks to this book!! June 24, 2012

I just finished my first run-through of Kindle - How to Publish, Promote & Profit. I have been working out a book idea for awhile and though I have heard it is easy to do, I was overwhelmed with the process when I started to investigate it on my own.

This book carved out a plan and inspired me to go DO IT! Tom Heatherington sifts through the myriad options available and offers up the best way to get started now. Thanks so much for putting out this book! I highly recommend it to others who feel the call to be a published author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very straightforward June 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A lot of similar books claim they will make you rich, or that they contain all the information you will ever need. This book is different. It sets out to help you get started towards success, but makes the point that no one book will ever have all the information you need. This is very refreshing.
The book itself was well written and edited. It was an easy read, but one you will want to go back over several times to pick up what you missed before. There are many really great references and resources. It was encouraging without being "pie in the sky" hyperbole.
I am glad that I read this book now, as I am in the beginning phases of self-publishing. It made me aware of many things now so I do not have to learn them the hard way later on.

More About the Author

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Amazon page. My name is Tom Heatherington, I am the author of "Kindle, How To Publish, Promote & Profit". This is my third Internet business book and my second published on the Kindle platform. "SEO & Social Media Marketing Guide" was published in 2010 and you can learn more about it at my website, www.TheInternetBook.com.

My latest project began as a result of my experience in publishing my previous book on Kindle. I learned a great deal and I made a number of mistakes that cost me time and money. Helping you avoid those pitfalls and offering some good tips along the way will make your publishing experience easier and more rewarding. After jumping into the deep end with that first book, I met a number of other Kindle authors and quickly discovered that most of them shared the same problem. Once their book was listed in the Kindle book store...now what? How do they create awareness for their books, how do they promote them and where should they devote their time to generate traction online?

In this book, although I cover the basics of formatting and KDP for new authors, most of the book deals with promotion. How to make enough noise online so that your book gets the attention of search engines and the people looking for information related to your book's topic. I am a marketing guy with a twenty year record of Internet promotional expertise and I have a great understanding of this technology. I am also pretty good at implementing this knowledge and teaching others how to use it and adapt it to solve their marketing problems.

More than ten years ago Macmillan published my first paperback entitled, "The Complete Small Business Internet Guide". Due to the lag time in publishing a print book and the speed in which the Internet changes, that book was virtually obsolete the day it hit store shelves. Fast forward to today and with digital publishing we can make updates, edits, change pricing and our book cover at any time. Now that is empowering.

I've experienced the publishing world from both sides; traditional print and digital books, and I am sold on the future (and the present) of electronic publishing. What Gutenberg started, Jeff Bezos perfected! Hope you like my book.
