Good but not GREAT
on September 3, 2010
The way I look at this, NOTHING is going to be perfect for any device we buy.
I love the convenience of the built in light, and I think the cover does a great job protecting the Kindle.
Yes, it adds a LOT of weight to what is supposed to be a lighter device. And at first, that bothered me. However, I realized I was not really reading that much at night, so I removed it and used a softer cover I had for every day use. BINGO, we have a winner.
If you read in bed, I'd suggest adding this to the Kindle at night...it's very easy to remove and will not damage the Kindle. This way, during the day (I do work and travel a lot so only read in the evenings), you can have this really lightweight and attractive device and in the evenings, the light you want.
I did notice of course that there seems to be unevenness of the lighting.
NO, REALLY? LOL...I mean, take out any light that you've purchased that clips on and tell me you get PERFECT even lighting!! IF you say you do, I'd like to know the brand, because I have TWO lights, and both do a good job, just not perfect and it's uneven.
I did read a review where someone returned the cover and got a new one and felt it was better, so maybe that's an option, but to be honest, I live in REALITY and understand nothing is going to be 100% perfect. It does the job and does it very well.
I would give it 5 stars if not for the weight, but overall, I'm happy with it. It's an innovative product that's convenient and you have to pay for that convenience.
