Liberty and The World Trade Center, 1983

Capturing two of New York City's most renowned landmarks, this image remains one of the most popular photos ever shot by The New York Times.

In the foreground, The Statue of Liberty stands tall in the entrance of the New York City harbor. A symbol of hope, liberty and freedom, the statue was a gift from France to the United States on the centennial of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.

In the background is The World Trade Center towers, which fell on September 11, 2001. Ten years later, the image of the towers alongside the iconic symbol of freedom continues to stir the souls of patriots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice cover, April 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: New York Times Kindle Cover by Verso, Statue of Liberty (Fits Kindle Keyboard) (Accessory)
I really like this cover alot...now, that being said, I just have two little things to mention..that are really NO big deal..but, can be annoying at times. It would have been nice if there was some kind of elastic band to keep the cover shut when you're carrying it around. Not that it flops open..it doesn't because I keep it in a pocket of whatever I am carrying it in..but..because there isn't anything to keep it shut, I'm more careful of keeping it shut. The other thing..the little corner elastic on the bottom right (that keeps the Kindle in place inside the cover) tends to get in the way of the on/off slide button on the bottom. Not a big deal at all..just a minor annoyance at times. All in all tho, I love it..

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, March 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Yes, it's beautiful! Even better than I expected. In reality there is not so much contrast as in the first picture, but it's more brilliant than in the second(lying) one. It's shiny. The Kindle is fixed securely with the four straps around the corners. It feels good in your hands! It seems to be good processed and I hope it will last that way! There were only three days delivery to Germany. I would certainly buy it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars kindle cover review, May 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Firstly, the design of this is simple, and not dis-similar to other kindle covers.

However there are numerous things that stand this product out from it's rivals.

Pros.

1. The material used on the outside - excellent - wipe clean plastic, solidly manufactured.

2. Inside - useful pockets/slits for passport, plane tickets etc. - Lovely embossed NY Times log on the inside.

3. Very tough structure.

4. Picture is gorgeous

Con.

Fixing of kindle to the cover is by 4 elastic straps - These could be a little tighter

The delivery back to London in Great Britain, was quick, and reliable.

Easy 9/10.

The only snag is the strapping.
