Product Description

How To Get The Most From Your Kindle gives the novice Kindle user an introduction to the various types of Kindles. Covering topics such as how to get the best pricing, when to buy, and the future prognosis of the most popular eReader on the planet, it’s a one-stop shop for all the buzz around the Kindle readers. From an honest and critical perspective that quotes both fans and critics of the Kindle, this Kindle eBook offers the reader valuable advice on the pros and cons of the Kindle devices.

It also offers tips and tricks to use on your Kindle device once you’ve become a party of the Kindle family!

What's In The Book:
--> A breakdown of all 5 members of the Kindle family
--> Best resources for secret tips and hacks for each Kindle
--> Where, when, and how to buy your Kindle at the best price
--> How to choose the best device for your reading needs
--> An honest comparison between popular eReading devices, including the Nook, iPad, and Sony eReader

Excerpt From The Book:
There's a funny scene on the USA network show "Burn Notice," where a civilian has built an elaborate bomb. That's not the funny part. What's funny is when Fiona, the show's resident bomb-making expert, asks him how he did it and the civilian answers by saying, "The Internet."

Like anything else, not all tech information is equal. The Internet is full of hacks—lines of code that you can add to your Kindle to make it do something it doesn’t currently do (like support non-Latin font characters or install new screensavers). There are some good blogs about hacks, and then there are writers with soldering irons who take apart their Kindles and go from there. This book can’t offer high-level hacks like that. What it will do, however, is tell you where to find the latest hacks and Easter eggs.

The Unofficial Blog Kindle
http://blogkindle.com/

One of the most authoritative guides on the Internet is"The Unofficial Kindle Blog" or "The Unofficial Blog Kindle." It has a staff of four and from the many critical and candid comments about the Kindle, its clear that they're not paid by Amazon. However, there is a level of tech detail on the site that shows they know what they’re talking about.

The blog covers a number of topics including Kindle Accessories, unicode fonts hack, eReader comparisons, Kindle dictionary, and Kindle FAQ, and even Kindle Hacks and Tools.

They list at least five hacks under their category of Kindle Hacks and Tools:
Unicode font hack
The Screensaver Hack which allows you to change your Amazon screensaver. (not sure if that’s allowed if you received a discount for special offers.)
The Savory Hack, which allows you to read open source non DRM docs on your Kindle.
The PDF Download
The eBook Text Formatter

Top 5 Keyboard Shortcuts From Kindle Review
http://ireaderreview.com/

Here are the top five keyboard shortcuts/functions that a casual user might find the most useful. These are taken from the Kindle Review website.
Make Screenshot: Alt-Shift-G.

Screenshots are stored on an SD card. Keep in mind that not all kindles have a SD slot.
Minesweeper: Alt-Shift-M
Set Current Picture As Screensaver: Alt-shift-0
Browser Shortcuts:
Show current location in google maps: Alt-1
Find gas station nearby: Alt-2
Find restaurants nearby: Alt-3
Find custom keyword nearby: Alt-5
Audio Player shortcuts:
Play/Stop: Alt-P
Next: Alt-F

*Note that these shortcuts only work on Kindles that support audio.

One warning about these keyboard shortcuts: This list was published in 2008 and updated in September of 2011. The shortcuts seem to apply only to the least expensive Kindle and the Kindle Touch, and therefore may not work with every model.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a review of Kindle models and links, February 14, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kindle (Kindle Edition)
This ebook is just a review of the available Kindle models. Yes, it does a good comparison but for tips and tricks you have to go to links that are listed. I have a Kindle Touch and the type is very small, making it larger just reduced what you could see on the screen. I was hoping for more help in using the Kindle. One link even takes you to the review of an iPad which defeats the purpose in my opinion. This is a Kindle site, not an Apple site. I was going to give 2 stars, but with the links you can at least go to a site that may help you.

4.0 out of 5 stars I own a Kindle, February 13, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kindle (Kindle Edition)
I got this to have a comparison between the diferent Kindles. I have a Kindle Fire and haven't refretted it for one second. After reading this, I'm going to buy a Kindle for my wife. It won't be the Fire because the feature would be lost with her, but I think she'll appreciate the lower end Kindle.
