This review is from: Kindred [Audiobook] [Cd] [Unabridged] (Audio CD)
I am a high school English teacher and I used these CDs to help us read through the book. The reader was great and did a pretty good job with the Southern accents. My students liked to hear it and enjoyed the inflections. I also have students do the reading, but of course they are too embarrassed to put any real emotions into their reading. My only complaint (and the only reason it got 3 stars) is that the CD breaks up the book into weird segments. You would think that one CD could equal two or three chapters...nope. Instead sometimes a chapter will span across a few CDs. Then on top of that, within the chapters there are sections...and the CD breaks those up too! It made it for a nightmare to find where we were in the book. What I ended up doing was importing it all into iTunes and then going through the WHOLE thing and renaming each track. When you import it into iTunes, it just labels them generically (Track 1, Track 2, etc.) So I went through and labeled each CD (CD 1 of 9) and each track (Chapter-The Fire:Section 1-2) It was a ROYAL pain, but now that it's done, it's really easy to use. Also, as we were listening to the CD, I would mark my book where tracks begin and end.
