Unexpected pleasure,

I tried this because I enjoy Loreena McKennitt's work, but there are unexpected treasures to be discovered on this album. I hadn't heard of many of the Celtic and/or New Age artists here, in particular Tannas, but I will try to locate their albums after listening to this. One warning: the vast majority of the lyrics are in Gaelic.

This is a nice album; I especially love tracks 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, and 16.
Anyway, it's not just Irish and Scottish music. There's also some Welsh, Breton and Galician (also Celtic music). Track 2 is a very nice instrumental song. Track 4 has awesome vocals. Track six has an awesome song played with a transverse flute. Anyway, I'd highly recommend this, although I wouldn't use it for background music. |
