This review is from: Kinetics of Materials (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book. I have used it three times to teach a course with the same title. The students like the book even though they find it challenging. The solved problems at the end of each chapter are an integral part of this book and the students and I have found it beneficial to work through all the details of the solutions that are provided. The introduction to diffusion through Onsager's irreversible thermodynamic treatment is basic to the subject and is the only book I am aware of in the field of materials science and engineering that commences with this treatment. The authors provide an introduction to irreversible thermodynamics that is very readable. Many of the chapters have excellent tables that summarize the main results.David N. Seidman Walter P. Must have for mechanical engineers,
This review is from: Kinetics of Materials (Hardcover)
This is the best I have found for quick references on the stored energy kinetics of materials and elements. It really helps solidify some of the concepts in physics that can be come rusty over time.
