I had never before been able to get the glass on my scanner as clean as I can with this product. I had hesitated to order it for fear of strong smells in the enclosed space in which I work since my asthma is triggered by most chemical odors. Not a problem! This has no odor whatsoever.

I finally decided to order it now that I am scanning old photographs which have mold on them. It's bad enough to have dust, finger tip spots, and miscellaneous spots I can't account for, but to have mold, too, seemed a bit too much (not to mention the possibility of passing it on to other photos!).

The product is easy to use: simply put a few drops on the special cloth provided in the kit (you could also use a microfiber cloth) and clean the glass. No special technique needed--it simply doesn't leave tracks, streaks, or marks. There is PLENTY of solution in the two ounces to last quite a while, since you only use a few drops each time.

The kit comes with an anti-static Tiger Cloth which is 10" x 18" in size. This is more than you need (uncomfortably large, actually) to clean a regular-sized scanner. I cut it in half so I now have two 10" x 9" cloths. I'm using one to clean the scanner and I wash it by hand after many normal uses or upon having cleaned the glass after a particularly old and spotted photo (you never really know what those spots might be!). It washes up just fine and doesn't shrink or lose texture (I don't know if it loses whatever anti-static qualities it might have had, but it seems like a necessary price to pay.) The cloth doesn't come with any laundering instructions and it doesn't say not to wash it. (NOTE: A similar Kinetronics cloth I also bought here at Amazon does say you can wash by hand and tumble dry "warm" and to keep it in a plastic bag while not in use--so that's what I'm doing with this one and it seems good as new).

I'm using the second half of the cloth to dust off all my photos before scanning and following the same cleaning regimen I described above. Works like a charm. It could also be used to clean negatives, slides, electronic equipment, DVD's, lenses, etc.

Extra bonus: Having a clean flatbed and scanning cleaner photos has cut back on post-processing considerably.

I purchased this because I do alot of slide scanning and need to make sure everything is real clean. The ad and picture show that there are two orange cloth's and a cleaning brush. However, I only received one black cloth and no brush, so beware! Other than that, the product works really well.
