Turn your grinder into a carving tool with King Arthur's Tools 45814 Lancelot 4-Inch Diameter 14 Tooth Coarse Cut Chain Carver Attachment (for Side Grinder with 5/8-Inch Arbor). A versatile saw chain cutter. Offers a remarkable smooth cut. Cuts in any direction. Great for major wood removal and freehand shaping in sculpting or carving. Also invaluable for builders, plumbers and electricians for cutting floor/wall openings, remodeling, notching and grooving. Fits most 4-inch and 4-1/2-inch angle grinders. Teeth are easily sharpened with 5/32-inch round file.

Product Description

Lancelot Woodcarving Discs take the muscle work out of woodcarving with their speed, power and maneuverability. The secret is in the special chain saw blade which is securely held between two stainless steel plates. Mount the 4" diameter Lancelot in your 4" or 4-1/2" angle grinder and watch the chips fly! It easily cuts the hardest woods regardless of grain or knots. The 14-tooth model is great for "roughing out" the 22-tooth model and leaves a smoother "finished" surface. Teeth can be resharpened using a standard chain saw file. Maximum 14,000 RPM. Chains can not be interchanged between models. Squire Mini Woodcarving Discs can be attached to another disc for the ultimate in power carving! Although it can be used alone as a small carving disc, by attaching the 3-3/8" diameter Squire to a Lancelot Disc with the Universal Mounting Nut you can effectively double your cutting capacity. You not only remove waste material faster but curved work, like the inside of bowls, is easier and smoother than when using a single disc. Fits all mini grinders with 5/8" x 11 TPI arbors.

I bought this tool at a tool outlet and couldn't wait to use it when I got home. It seemed simple enough, take the grinding wheel off my dewalt grinder and slap on the cutter and start making woodchips? It worked like a champ. I took a large piece of red oak burl and made my wife a beutiful centerpiece for our dining room table in no time. The next day I started carving a serving platter. All was going well until the grinder went flying through the air along with a substantial chunk of my middle finger! After returning from the emergency room I decided to look at the directions for the first time, I know, I know, stupid of me not to read them first but real men dont really read directions do we? If I had read the directions and moved my grinder blade gaurd to the proper position I would not have nearly amputated my finger. Read the directions then carve away, great tool, little bit pricey for a section of chainsaw chain and two large washers.

I would have given the Lancelot Carving Blade a 5-star rating except for the price BUT it really does the job as advertised. It is very useful for pole barn, post and beam construction for fitting up twisted/warped posts to rafters, etc. Oh heck...it was worth the bucks.....give it one more star!

this is just the sort of tool i've been looking for and does quite a job of removing material!
it is solidly built and balanced.
one feature that could be added is, modified tooth design to enable side cutting.
other than that, it is a great tool!
