This is an excellent representation of a very under-appreciated band from the late 70's. I am a great fan of these Grateful Dead "spin=off" bands, and they are (like the Dead) best in the live format. If you enjoy the "county Dead" sound of "Skull and Roses" you'll love this Kingfish record.

Barely even remember this roots-rock&roll band.'King Biscuit...' was recorded live at the Beacon Theater in NYC on April 3,1976.2-CD's with twenty songs and a duration of 84:34.Plenty of rock&roll standards along with folk and blues numbers showcased here.Line-up:Bob Weir(Grateful Dead)-guitar,Mathew Kelly-harp&vocals,Robby Hoddinott-guitar,Dave Torbert-bass and Chris Herolo-drums.Might appeal to some fans of Phish,Hot Tuna,Quicksilver Messenger Service and Santana.

Kingfish was a highly entertaining band, especially live as this cd proves. Any rock n roll band that can make me actually enjoy the Marty Robbins song "Big Iron" is truely amazing. There's lots of other great songs too, all done very well by Bob Wier and band mates. Anyone who likes the Greatful Dead and just all around great rock, will love this. Worth the money. Get it now!

Really great performance from Bob Weir and Kingfish on this double CD. If you're a fan of Bobby, this is a must have.

Incrediable show and recording. Can't say enough about the Quality and the choice of songs.

Quality sound, great tunes, and a willingness to play hard, yet slick,put this "Deadish" band atop my list of favorites. All who have listend, have enjoyed as much as I, if not more.

Bob Weir sounds great in this concert disc from the 1970's. The second disc has better collection of songs than the first. Not for everyone, but makes a nice addition to a Deadhead's library.
