Excellent, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents in Concert (Audio CD)
I taped this concert from the radio in 1975 and would listen to it over and over again. I wanted this concert on CD for the longest time and I was thrilled when I saw this at my local CD store. I couldn't wait to get home to play it. The sound quality is great, (especially compared to my home recording) and, of course, the performance is excellent. An added bonus is that there is more material that was not included on the original broadcast because of the limited time available. This is a necessity for Rick Wakeman fans, especially those who have seen him in concert.

Wakeman Live in '75, April 28, 2001
This review is from: King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents in Concert (Audio CD)
This is one of the earliest "Live" Wakeman recordings currently available. Taped with their usual technical expertise for a King Biscuit Flower Hour radio show, it's also the earliest disc to feature Rick's "streamlined" band, The English Rock Ensemble. This 8-piece outfit, which included Ashley Holt (vocals) & Tony Fernandez (drums), would go on to record the bizarre NO EARTHLY CONNECTION just a few months later, as well as LIVE ON THE TEST, the BBC-radio show a month after that. (Sadly, both of those are currently out-of-print-- but at least I got MINE!) This disc is pretty standard for Wakeman-- but that's nothing to knock! It's just that these days there are SO MANY live Wakeman albums to choose from, and good as this is, there's a few others I like even more...
