5.0 out of 5 stars I DON'T THINK WE'RE IN KANSAS TOTO!!!!
After leaving KANSAS in 1982, Steve Walsh recruited CITY BOY guitarist Mike Slamer, drummer Tim Ghert, and future KANSAS bassist Billy Greer to form STREETS. Diehard KANSAS fans were in shock!! Gone were the complex musical textures and what stood in their place was a ball to the walls tear yer head off rock band! This KBFH release contains almost all of the STREETS 1ST...

2.0 out of 5 stars Steve Walsh...mmmm....goood....
How could you ever get tired of Steve Walsh's voice? He is certainly one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Billy Greer on bass is not only a great bassist, but another excellent vocalist. Overall, this CD really rocks! If you are a Kansas fan (and who isn't?) add this to your collection. Not as classically steeped, but rocks out in an equally pleasing way.

This KBFH release contains almost all of the STREETS 1ST album plus a couple of cuts not included on either studio release. As of 2000, both STREETS 1ST and CRIMES IN MIND are no longer in print(and were never released on CD...not officialy anyway!!!) So, if you can't find these two on LP or cassette, BUY THIS!!!! You won't be dissapointed! It may be your only chance to hear one of the greatest bands of the 80's. P.S. lot's of luck finding copies of these two lp's! I've got 2 copies of 1st and one of Crimes in Mind and it took forever to find them!!

4.0 out of 5 stars STREET SMART, August 18, 2002

Its like Kansas sort of, its like Whats on my mind Kansas
But what surprised me was the high level of musicianship
and the great drum solo ,in fact everything the drummer
does. The guitars are also great as well as the keys.
Steves vocals sound fantastic around this period.
If you like 80`s rock bands like journey ,foreigner , even
ToTo (rock maker style)and you are also a bit of a prog head
this will make you very happy, I like it alot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good songs. Great guitar playing. Classic Walsh vocals., December 30, 1999

Streets were a band that came so close to getting the kind of sales and airplay that Journey and Forigner were enjoying at this time. Hard rock pop with above average musicianship is a ball park description of this style.

The studio albums Streets recorded are excellent. Hopefully Walsh owns the masters of those and perhaps some day they will be available on CD.

Until then, you deserve to hear a collection of well crafted, well performed and rather nicely produced songs that represent some of the best elements of the style. Worth owning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Streets Show They Can Do It Live, December 14, 2004
This review is from: King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents in Concert (Audio CD)
This show rocks out, big time. Walsh really did it when he pulled together these rockers for his band Streets. It's the perfect mix of Kansas and proto-80's FM radio rock. Buy the studio albums as well, particularly "1st", which will rock your socks off.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must if you're a Steve Walsh fan!!, July 4, 1999
This review is from: King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents in Concert (Audio CD)
As a KANSAS fan, of course I was interested in hearing this cd. The two albums, "1st" and "Crimes In Mind", are not available on cd. So, if you don't own the vinyl, you may want to check it out. Most of the material comes from the first album, "1st". The other few remaining are from "Crimes In Mind". The music is dated, but it's still pretty good. It's obvious that the band members are in top notch condidtion. If you want to hear more "straight forward" rock, check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Drums and Rock n Roll, June 6, 2003
By A Customer

This is one of the classic King Biscuit concerts. Tim Gehrt, in a rare live performance that rocks Pittsburgh with a drum solo that seems hard to believe a human being could have performed it live. Before he went on to disco, this guy knew rock drumming like no one else. Walsh is a classic. This is a must have in the classic rock collection.

This is a great recording of Streets live! Steve Walsh is an excellent performer, as is the rest of the group! I only wish I could find the "Streets" CD! (Studio tracks) I know it was out there for purchase at one point because I'm quite sure that a friend of mine has it! I have a promotional vinyl copy of "Move On" and "Everything Is Changing" and once had the album on tape! I can't seem to find it on CD anywhere! What a shame! I have told many friends what a fantastic group these guys were, but I can't prove it without the goods. Again, what a shame!

I like this disc a lot. I just wish the powers that be would release the first two Streets recordings on CD. This recording showed that Streets were excellent live.
