Easy to handle and carry with you.

I found that filling up a bag with sand worked best and then I inserted that bag into the weight bag.

In theory they are a good idea but thin and if you use them a lot, they will likely not last.

I put up an awning in my driveway to park my car under for the summer.......convertible, pine needles, tree sap, ugh, etc.....you understand why. Anyway, I researched 'anchors' for my awning. I found them to range from fairly cheap to down right rediculous in price. After all, they hold sand for heaven sakes. For the love of my car I found myself drawn to the expensive ones. Then one day I came to my senses and finally decided to purchase these. I'm so glad. These are well made. A five gallon bucket filled three quarters of the way with sand will fill approx. two. I live in Washington
State so finding a windy rainy blustery day has not been a problem......and so far so good. Would definitely recommend.

We got these to secure our King Canopy Garden Party 10x10. Based on other reviews online I opted to fill gallon ziploc bags with sand (2 in each) and then top with a layer of very large rocks. They have held our canopy down during some pretty strong winds and rain storms. No problems with the zippers however I really babied them to avoid anything from going wrong. As long as you don't lift the bag by the part that zips while they are full you should be just fine.

I'm an event photographer - and for this fall's marching band season we added a canopy, windscreen and weights to our equipment wagon. One single time sharing a canopy with another event organizer who did not have weights- and a crazy windy afternoon that literally demolished that canopy - made me vow to never attempt to use a canopy without weights. We used one set of four weght plates on each of the four corners - but also supplemented with these canvas weight bags filled with clean cat litter. We are typically setup on the track of a football field, next to chain link fencing. The two back legs of our canopy we secure TO the chain link using two of the wrap-around canopy weight bags in addition to the weight disks. Our canopy made it through the season intact. Helpful hint: place gallon size ziploc bags inside the canopy bags before filling - then fill the ziplocs with cat litter, sand, etc, then zip them closed and zip the canvas closed. DON'T fill the ziploc and then try to insert it into the cylindrical canvas bag. I can see us using these canvas weigt bags for tripods and light stands as well as our canopy. Great purchase.

These bags are great! Do be careful with zippers. As for filling the bags themselves, each has two cylinders. Do use pea gravel. Get two 40 lb. bags. Use quart size ziplocs and only fill them about half way. You will be able to fit five on each side and get each cylinder zipped shut. You won't have very much left over. This keeps your weight bags clean should they get wet or if a cylinder starts to wear. I leave them filled and just pack them away in a tote to keep them dry til the next time they are needed. They are decently heavy when filled. Wrapping around canopy legs is easy. Absolutely good value for the money spent.

PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR CHAINS OR KITTY LITTER. WE USED BOTH. CHAINS EASIER TO USE BUT KITTY LITTER GAVE THE MOST SUPPORT

Appears to be a great product, easy to fill, attach & does a great job holding a tent. But, they tear very easily (the canvass is cheap) and constanyly have to be replaced. So, for about 6 bucks each, buy a few hundred and just keep throwing out the torn ones!

I thought the sand bags would be bigger. But they are nice and classy looking. FYI - don't expect them to hold down your canopy in windy situations! A canopy tent will act like a kite and try to take off, regardless how much weight is added to it.
