Lame with a capital "L", March 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
The inept ramblings of a tired old man. The truth about ClubCorp was revealed in a recent New York Times article that fingered Dedman and others for duplicity and double dealing. The Dedman's, like the Kennedy's, are trying to re-write history. If I were them, I would too.

Great Enjoyable Reading and Informative Too, March 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
I have read many books about the life and times of individuals. This is one of the most enjoyable books you can read, enjoy and learn all at the same time. It will not tell you all of the details of how Robert Dedman become so successfull but it will give a foudation to make your own life successfull. Ms DeLoach's incorporation of humor through out the book truly makes this a fun book to read.

I'm the author ... and a reader in Dallas., January 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
I reviewed this book before Christmas as a reader in Dallas, but didn't know there was a special place for authors to review their own books. Oops! I didn't want to be misleading, so see "A reader in Dallas" for what this author thinks. I can't be more honest when I say this is truly a book for all ages. I hope it's as much fun to read as it was to write.

Makes interesting and fun reading even for those who do not read a lot! Would recommend this type of reading to any age for improvement of their outlook wherever they are in life! The type of book that you can read more than once and seem to get something out of it each time that maybe you missed the last time you read it...

Surprisingly captivating and life-enriching, April 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
Not being a fan of biographies or self-help books, I didn't expect much when this book was given to me as a gift. You can imagine my surprise when I found myself enthralled and amused by its content. It kept me awake most of the night because I couldn't set it down. A real surprise and a true delight.

A hole-in-one as biz book with inspiring formula for success, December 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
There are a lot of books out there about how to get rich. There are a few more about how to grow rich in more than money, but none of them are written by a billionaire who has done both. Robert's Rules of Order can help anyone enjoy success in business and even more important, in life. Living, loving, laughing, giving, having fun, setting up win-win relationships, being nice...it's all in this book. Entertaining reflections on a fascinating career, Robert Dedman has built fame and fortune as the founder of ClubCorp. He's the richest guy in golf, but that's not the extent of his wealth. His whole life is rich because he works at making it so. How he did it and keeps doing it will inspire anyone to set their sights high and achieve a richness in life that goes far beyong their net worth. Nobody cares what you know until they know you care. This book has it all.

Truly banal, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: King of Clubs: Grow Rich in More Than Money (Hardcover)
This book is a wildly self-indulgent extension of every cliche in other people's books. It's truly banal. I agree, however, with the reviewer who said it could be worthwhile "for those who do not read a lot."
