"Hip-shaking King Creole.",
This review is from: King Creole (1958 Film) (Audio CD)
"King Creole" is right up there with "Loving You" Again, watch the movie first, then hear the teriffic music. You're going to love both. The main title theme starts off the soundtrack. High-energy tracks. They include "King Creole", "As Long As I Have You", "Hard Headed Woman", "Dixieland Rock", "Young Dreams", and more. This is a teriffic Elvis soundtrack reissue. The only flaw with this is even with more tracks it is still too short. Heck, I listened to it several dozen times, and I'm satisfied. What RCA can retrieve from the vaults, is what we get. We need more reviews on Elvis' music and his movies, PLEASE! It goes to show you how little he's appreciated in some areas.

He plays something evil and he plays something sweet,

This is the soundtrack to Elvis' fourth (and arguably best) movie. It features Elvis at the top of his game, singing great songs like "King Creole", "Hard Headed Woman" and "Trouble". This soundtrack was the first time Elvis worked with a horn section. This CD adds seven bonus tracks to the original album. I highly recommend it.

One of the best Elvis soundtracks,
By A Customer
This review is from: King Creole (1958 Film) (Audio CD)
"King Creole" is a must for Elvis fans everywhere. I love the cover photo with him in that outfit. RCA and BMG really did an excellent job on remaking some of Elvis' career albums, and adding new songs on them. On "King Creole" all of the extra tracks except one had never released before! Elvis' daughter, Lisa Marie, is trying to get RCA and BMG to take all of the unreleased takes and songs out of the RCA vaults and release them all. I hope she succeeds. Right now, Follow That Dream records and RCA have relaesed six new CDs where everything is previously unreleased material. On track 16 of "King Creole" Elvis talks before he begins singing "Steadfast, Loyal, and True". He says "On the first part, the tempo? A little? Yeah? Really? Huh?" and after a second the music begins. You must own this if you are an Elvis fan!

Presley really shows a great range in style with this album. The soundtrack is the best of his career and one of the best Rock albums ever produced. A must for Rock fans!

I loved this film when I first saw it...I was only 10 at the time and I learned all the words to every song back then and remember them now at age 58
The CD is wonderful...good sound, clear and just plain lovely..

Dixieland Rock,

This is a soundtrack of the movie by the same name. And it's good. Some songs have horn arrangements ("Hard Headed Woman", "Trouble", Dixieland Rock", "New Orleans"), "Danny" is a beautiful fifties rock 'n' roll ballad and the title track is fabulous!

Elvis at his best,

This was Elvis's very favorite movie that he made. From the first song "Crawfish" to the last, this is Elvis at his best. I bought this CD just for the Crawfish song. You wont be dissapointed if you loved the movie.

Elvis' best soundtrack and best movie,
By
This review is from: King Creole (1958 Film) (Audio CD)
If you want to watch Elvis' best movie and listen to his best soundtrack, this is the one. "King Creole" was made in 1958 right before Elvis went into hibernation for two years as a soldier in the U.S. Army. I've always felt that if he hadn't gone into the army, this movie would have kick started something even bigger in his Hollywood career. He comes off with a great James Dean image and really showed his acting ability on the stage. But enough about the movie, the soundtrack is just absolutely awesome!
You've got the rocking title track of "King Creole", along with "Trouble", "Hard Headed Woman" and "Dixieland Rock". Those four alone would make this a 5-star album. But then you add the very bluesy "New Orleans" that just makes the goosebumps jump up on the arms and then add some very solid ballads in the emotional heart tugger "Don't Ask Me Why" and even "Crawfish", along with the peppy "Young Dreams", and you have one of the Rock era's classic soundtracks ever. If you want to hear Elvis at his best before his manager totally changed his post-Army image, and his career in Hollywood would never be the same, this is the album you want!

BEST ELVIS SOUNDTRACK, PERFECT COMBO,
By
This review is from: King Creole (1958 Film) (Audio CD)
I heard alot of Elvis soundtracks, but this is a perfect combination. That Dixieland New Orleons sound fronted by the father of rock, Elvis.
Rock was born all over the south and New Orleons is home of Dixieland Jazz, and who better to try it than Elvis, its like he was born for this type of music. I sometimes wonder why he didn't make atleast one upbeat Jazz album, i mean yeah he has a rock voice but listening to this made me realize he also couldve been a Dixieland Jazz Giant. Elvis and Dixieland is the best combo since Chocolate & Peanut Butter.

Classic Elvis!!!!,

King Creole another one of my favorite soundtracks by Elvis. Again not a huge soundtrack fan but this one has more of Elvis' 1950s flavor. This album has a lot of the good rock songs: "King Creole," "Hard Headed Woman," "Dixieland Rock," and "Trouble." All classic Elvis rock songs that I would include on any compilation album. There is also some more pop influenced songs which I really dig like "Crawfish," "Lover Doll," and "New Orleans." The only throw away track on this album is "Steadfast, Loyal and True." It's a pretty lame song. Other than that this album still holds the '50s Elvis sound, (which in my opinion is Elvis' best work.) If you're a fan of '50s Elvis, get this album.
