2.0 out of 5 stars Hmm...If only it weren't for the 7 god damn skits, May 25, 2004
By
This review is from: The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil Scrappy (Audio CD)
Heres how I rate it
LIL' SCRAPPY
1:Crank It-9/10 One of the best beats on here and its only an intro
2:What The F***-8/10 Tight song, beat doesn't progress until 30 sec or so
3:Head Bussa-10/10 Overall favorite song, Lil' Scrappy shows you what he can do w/ the mic
4:Bootleg-N/A Just a one time funny skit
5:No Problem-7/10 Beat doesn't start in a while, just started to show it on 106 and park and Rap City
6:Dookie Love-N/A Another skit
7:F.I.L.A.-8/10 Song Scrappy represents ATL w/, good lyrics
8:Crunk Radio-N/A Again with a skit
9:Diamonds On My Pinky Ring-6/10 song has yet to grow on me, but its okay
10:Be Real-4/10 don't like it enough to ever listen to it, but beat goes along with Scrappy perfectly
TRILLVILLE
11:Trillville Radio-N/A 4th skit here
12:Neva Eva-8/10 Trillville's only single so far
13:Get Some Crunk In Yo System-9/10 Awesome beat, Pastor Troy appears
14:Goodbye-N/A Another skit
15:Weakest Link-7/10 Good Song
16:Bathroom-N/A I've lost count of all the skits
17:Bitch Niggaz-7/10 Decent song
18:Dookie Love-N/A 50th or so skit
19:Some Cut-6/10 First part sounds like creeking, very annoying, songs get better later on though
20:The Hood-5/10 As Lil Jon says its supposed to be a song over Trillville's history, am I missin something?
21:Gone-10/10 Tillville best song, only 3 1/2 minutes though good beat
If It weren't for all the stupid trillville skits then this album could've looked at a 3 or 4 star rating, but buy it for Lil' Scrappys performance alone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yawn........., July 27, 2004

Lil' Scrappy needs to find himself something called a flow. I guess this is a good record if you like to hear someone talking over super-generic, cornball production. Fortunately, I doubt his career or that of his affiliates and peers will last too much longer. I'll give it 2-3 years at most before these pseudo-MCs are never heard from again. Perhaps, one day the kids who gave this album 5 stars will learn about something called hip hop culture. Yes, lets all get crunk in the club. Too bad noone cops Tag Team's albums these days. This is disposable noise that will soon be forgotten forever.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Skits On This Album; Not Enough Crunkness, March 22, 2004
This review is from: The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil Scrappy (Audio CD)
Whomever is into the southern crunk music, this is the CD you need to cop out. This album is produced with some crunk by Lil' Jon, which he is really hot out of A.T.L.! This album has two different covers for Lil Scrappy and Trillville, which the sequence of the different covers are different, but the same songs are included.

Both artists has 10 different tracks fitted into one CD, which is a double album fitted into a whole one CD! I feel that this CD would be better without the numerous of skits which I am very disappointed on this CD. That is why I give 3 stars to this CD. And the other reason I give this CD 3 stars is that the production is tight, but the lyrical content of Trillville is lacking to me, it is just nothing but screaming, throughout some of his tracks. I think that Lil Scrappy has the tightest lyrical skills from the ATL! This CD is good for bumpin in your whips with a good boomin system and start a good party!

My favorite tracks on this CD is (1) "F.I.L.A. (Forever I Love Atlanta)," that track is crunk as hell!; (2)"Head Bussa," (3) "Get Some Crunk In Yo System (feat. Pastor Troy)," the title of the song speaks for itself!; and (4) "Neva Eva."

Go and cop this album if you are into that crunk southern style!
