4.0 out of 5 stars A classic!!!
I am fanatic of the fight games, especially of the King of Fighters, I'm should say to you that this collection is very but very good for those that loved these games, but if you are not, you didn't possibly like it. The only disadvantage of the game is that this doesn't have VS mode and it is quite tedious to have to compete with the same team until your competitor...

2.0 out of 5 stars It's OK, but not what I expected
This game is good if you are a fan of this franchise, but if you haven't play this game before, any of them you shouldn't buy it. That's what happen to me. I have play "King of Fighters" before, but is a normal game a this wii version is nothing new. Just a compilation of different old versions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its the King for a reason!, December 19, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

One of the funnest fighting game series ever finally gets a Wii compilation. You get the original (94),the Orochi Saga (95-97), and the saga's dream match (98). There are challenges that unlock art and both classic and arranged music.

Unlike the PS2 and PSP versions, there is no loading between fights, even in KoF 98. Also the games run smooth as silk, with no lag or slowdown.

Fighting game fans simply can't go wrong with this compilation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Retro Fun, June 30, 2010

I love retro games. These are the games I grew up with as a kid. Now even as an adult, it's still fun to go back and play these games and relive memories. In this day of 3D fighters and SSF4, the King of Fighter series from the 90's still retains its charm and playability. This disc has five KoF games for a bargain rate (especially for those of us who remember what these cost individually in the 90's). All five games are faithful to the Neo Geo & arcade versions.
For younger gamers who are unfamiliar with the KoF series but are interested in building their fighting games collections, I would recommend starting with KoF '98. Not only is it visually superior than the others and has more special moves and characters, but the gameplay is the smoothest and most enjoyable out of the series on the disc.
The game is compatible with Wiimote, Classic controller, and GC controller. I recommend using a PS2 controller thru the PS2->Wii/GC adapter.

If you like KOF then stop thinking and get the game!
Only thing missing is the slot to insert the quarters :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, October 29, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga (Video Game)
I never really got into the King of Fighters games but when I saw this I knew I had to add it to my collection. The game has its challenging moments and has multiple difficulties and quite a variety of characters. I have to say this is probably one of the better fighting franchises in the world. Not the best but its up there with the word great.

With the 5 games included there is this challenge mode which is how you get your unlockables and is a nice feature that extends the gameplay and can be very challenging which can lead to frustration as they are set up under different difficulties but at the same time its well worth it in the end.

The graphics start out at being pretty good for the time and end up being really good. I like the variety of characters and they look pretty good on the tube. There is some storyline but its nothing extravagant by todays standards but what it does do is offer a little in the entertainment value department. This was common by the standards when these games were originally released.

Overall this is a great compilation collection and if you like 2D fighting games I can promise you will not be disappointed.
